Warning: regular listening can improve your mental health.
Once you are on the path and journey of self discovery, there’s no going back. Brad Reedy is a wonderful guide. He is clear, direct, honest, vulnerable. He understands boundaries, how to explain them, and how to implement them. As we grow up in life, it’s important to shift your perspective- to engage with professionals, people, experiences, etc that change and challenge your viewpoint by a few degrees. It’s hard to change and grow- but it’s necessary! This podcast and his books are excellent resources for anyone- parents, young adults, and anyone with (or raising kids with) mental health issues. Let’s face it- we all need to do “the work”.

I’m learning how to be human and it’s helping me feel whole again.
The principles discussed in these podcasts and my practicing of them is healing. I’m a therapist by profession and I am seeing this improve my work in holding my clients emotions more effectively now. I have witnessed great healing in sessions by following the principles explained here. I can only hope this podcast helps its other listeners in the way it’s helped me.

Spot On Parenting and Becoming a Self Podcast
I love this podcast! I love his books, and his advice to parents. I like to listen to them on walks when I'm needing to space for myself and reset, many of his podcasts are good reminders for me to heal and nurture my own wounds so I am not placing those wounds as a priority over my own children and spouse.

Love Love the Evoke podcast. Have listened to every podcast for the past 2 years. Heard Brad’s interview w Sanford Shapiro this week- Wonderfully healing to hear him speak, and would enjoy hearing more about his relationship w his adult stepson. How parents can sort out their relationship w adult children who are addicts is very close to my heart .

Thank you Brad and Evoke for making this podcast available
Thank you Brad and Evoke for making this podcast available to the public. I’ve been listening for almost 3 years. I started listening when my family was having serious issues. Whenever I feel like I need support, I just turn on this podcast, go for a walk or do the dishes, and I feel much better and clearer. I can honestly say that this podcast has improved my life in a major way.

Thank You for sharing your experiences, insight and vulnerability with us!
Just finished listening to your podcast on 13 Things to NOT Say to You Children and was saddened and inspired. Sad, because I have done every one of them and inspired to have a new vocabulary that will further build on a better connection with my children, especially my son. My teenage son has spent the better part of 2019 in and out of FFAS for treatment and is currently in a sober living home. At his treatment center we also participated in weekly therapy sessions with our son and attended a parent interactive program. It was were I found the courage to reflect on my own behaviors and traumas in order to start the journey to healing. I love that I have found your book and podcasts to help further this terrifying and exciting new journey.

Evoke Therapy Podcasts are for Everyone
These podcasts aren’t just for parents who have children that are struggling. They are for everyone. We’ve really gotten a lot out of them and they’ve influenced the way we parent. The results are better relationships with our children and peace and serenity with the way things are. The podcasts aren’t meant to be a one time listen. The messages are very logical but sometimes counterintuitive and in contrast to what you might be doing. For us there’s a direct connection to reduced stress in our lives, knowing what we have control over and what we don’t. Brad’s relatable and has lots of real life examples and stories that are helpful, too.

Kind, nurturing, SMART!
I wish I’d discovered Dr Reedy decades ago. He has so much great information about how to do your own work. Anyone (with or without a “qualifier”) can benefit from Dr Reedy’s compassionate, focused, vulnerable insight. I want to start a “podcast club” so I can talk about these ideas! Thanks ❤️❤️❤️

An incredible support
Dr. Reedy is an amazing human who has found a way to communicate clearly, humbly and without shame all the ways parents can improve their relationships with their children. The information he provides is rich with personal and professional insights that are immediately enlightening and applicable. Today, at this very moment, our son is being transported to Evoke Therapy and it is largely because of these podcasts that we were finally able to find the boundary strength to step in for our child. I look forward to more and more realizations. In gratitude!!!

Grateful
Brad clearly communicates. He is able to simply and kindly explain problems, describe what not to do, what to do instead and backs it all up with personal examples. Thank you for making and sharing these.

Terrific podcast!
I have three teen sons and I found this podcast after researching Evoke’s Wikderness program. Although we haven’t needed the Wilderness Program these podcasts have been so helpful in parenting our three sons. The work that Brad talks about isn’t easy but it makes so much sense. My husband and I are using the concepts to better ourselves and our family. Thank you so much for making these available to the public! The advice in these podcasts is worth so much to our family! Thank you!

Excellent parenting tool to understanding their children’s problems and behavior
Came across this podcast when I was searching for boundaries. So far I’ve started listening from the first podcast and found it very insightful. I am not a parent myself, though I find myself in conflict with my mother in my middle age at that, the principles and cases tackled is relatable even in my case.

Amazing
I am not joking when I tell you this man (Reedy) helped save my marriage. My husband and I separated in May 2016 after 21 years of a dysfunctional relationship, a personal breast cancer journey and a very difficult explosive child since the age of 2. As my son reached adolescence he began refusing school and failing academically. We knew for over 10 years that he might need wilderness therapy at some point because no outpatient therapist could reach him. As his father’s enmeshment with our son progressed, I began disengaging, feeling there was no longer a parenting part left for me. Finally, I begged both my husband and his family to help us get the support we needed to help our son learn to succeed. We found Evoke. We listened to these podcasts religiously, went to 12-step groups and individual therapy and learned that we all had a part in the dysfunction. We owned it and allowed ourselves to become vulnerable. If you have a family that handles stress poorly please start listening even if you do not have a child in the wilderness . I would recommend “Couples work...” as a starter because this webinar/podcast is one I listened to 4 times before I went to my husband and told him I thought we should try it again. I’m getting ready to listen to it again right now. If you are willing to be vulnerable, go where there is pain, you will heal in the end and gain the world. Brad will help you get there. My husband and I used to want to go to one of his private weekends for families, (and we still do), but also feel like we already have it. Just pop in one of his podcasts and he actually inspires you to do the work! He makes you want to hurt, because of the promise of a healthy relationship at the end....and, after all, isn’t that what we all want in life?
