My parents met through the Filk community, and brought me to circles and sang me to sleep with Filk music, Eric and Lizzie constantly play both my long time favorites, and stuff I’ve heard of in passing, and entirely new music, keeping me feeling in touch with the rest of the community even when I can’t attend every in-person events as often as I’d like.

Every episode has old and new favorites and I love the little calendar of upcoming events Eric and Lizzie include. A great podcast for people like me who love the folk music of science fiction fans and the community that makes it.

“Filk” music, that is folk music by and for science fiction fans, has been an active hobby since the mid-20th Century. This podcast brings it squarely into the 21st Century with old sing-along favorites, new works and a whole lot of music you won’t hear anywhere else.

I'm newly into filk and this is a great way to get up to speed with classics and new music. I like the host's understated humor and obvious enthusiasm for the genre, and the music selections are great too!

This podcast is far better than I even hoped it would be. Eric’s filk collection and knowledge of the subject is both broad and deep. If you’re an old fan, you’ll find new delights to join your old favorites. And if you’re new to filk, this podcast is the best way to learn about the genre.

I've long been a lover of filk music (personally I perform educational science style) but I only recently discovered the extent of filk music that exists. I recently came back from my first Filk convention with a stack of CD's and have been enjoying them very much. But I also came back with a flyer for this podcast and have been listening to it, catching up on the episodes, and I am very excited by this fantastic way to get aquainted with more filk musicians and songs. Buying CD's sound unheard is always chancy as to whether you're going to enjoy them or not. I love that both old and new music is featured. This podcast is giving me the chance to explore filk music and will help me find what I especially love. I enjoy the introductions and I'm excited that I now have an easy way to keep up on filk news - kickstarters, conventions etc. This is going to be invaluable to me going forward. Thanks SO much for your efforts on our behalf. Some of the new-to-me songs have just blown me away at how powerful they are. It is clear to me that I will be buying more filk music going forward, and this podcast is going to help me fulfill this desire.
