The Seattle Seahawks are now 5-2 after a 30-16 loss to the Baltimore Ravens, and the 14-point difference was due to two offensive turnovers that the Ravens defense returned for scores. But does that fully explain the issues this Seahawks team has been showing through the first seven weeks of the season? Rob Staton of Seahawks Draft Blog joins Brandan Schulze to recap the Week 7 loss and the areas where Seattle is struggling most.

Tied up at 13 at the half, the Ravens challenged Seattle to throw the ball coming out of halftime and it turned out to be a coaching move that helped to limit the Seahawks offense to only 3 points in the second half. The Seahawks finished the day just 1 for 3 in the red zone. Rob and Brandan talk about the other shortcomings of the team as the linebacker group continues to come up short of expectations. Rob suggests that the Seahawks may want to find another player on offense with Will Dissly out. The Seahawks haven’t been trusting their run game in short yardage situations and it might be why they are accepting the risk of long field goals over fourth down attempts in short yardage situations.

Looking ahead at the schedule, Seattle now faces two NFC South teams that have combined for three wins. It gives the Seahawks a chance to bounce back before taking on the toughest part of their schedule against the 49ers, Eagles, Vikings and Rams in the following weeks.
