Literally got iTunes to review this podcast
I normally don’t use iTunes but want to see this podcast thrive so I figured out how to get iTunes to review it. This podcast is really well produced, the hosts have great energy, and each of them brings something new to the table so it doesn’t feel like the same opinion three times. It’s really nice to find a fanfic focused podcast that doesn’t just talk about fic drama but instead about great fics and why the hosts love them. Super recommend listening to Fic Clique! ~ signed, stifledlaughter

a great fic-focused podcast
One of my favorite recent podcast discoveries. The hosts cover a pretty wide range of fandoms and I love that they discuss fic in such an enthusiastic, positive, and thoughtful way. Definitely recommended if you’re looking for a new fandom (and especially fic)-focused podcast!

Out of my gourd for this podcast! 5 stars
I love this podcast! The hosts are funny and insightful and discuss fic in a way that shows how much they love it, how much they understand it, and the way that it’s different from and the same as published literature. Not to mention the care they take to bring in fics that are from fandoms you would never have thought of, with concepts that blow your mind. Even when a fic is right in your wheelhouse or even a pairing you hate in a fandom you enjoy, they bring nuance and you enjoy the discussion - whether you’ve read the fic or not. Frankly, I think if anyone is curious about fan fiction they should listen to this podcast to start in the best place. If someone has been in fandoms for what feels like their whole life, they should also listen to this podcast - Fic Clique will take care of you.

It’s great!
Love this podcast, it’s so cheerful, and the intro segments always make me laugh. It’s also recommended me many excellent stories that I’m not sure I would have found on my own. Overall excellent, highly recommend.

Great podcast!
This podcast has some great personalities, opinions, and analyses. I wish the topics aligned with my own areas of the fan world more often (I’m not a big shipper and I don’t read much RPF, both of which are things the podcast tends to focus on a lot), but overall this is a solid, interesting podcast that sheds a light on the wonderful interactions people can have with fanworks.

Excellent blend of enthusiasm and critical analysis
Fun to listen to, it’s clear the hosts are friends. A good blend of fangirling over the fic and interesting discussion of themes, prose, etc. I haven’t encountered any other podcasts that are doing exactly what this one does, a book club for fanfic is an extremely apt description.
Other podcasts like this:
Fansplaining, Overinvested, Fake Geek Girls, Fangirl Happy Hour, Pop Culture Happy Hour, Slash Report (this one ended a while ago but is worth going back for)
You can’t rate podcasts on Pocket Casts so I opened the apple podcast app just to give 5 stars!

“we have a lot of feelings about fanfiction”
Yes, dear friends, we sure do. This podcast is what I wanted out of every college literature class I took. In each episode, Brenna, Nic, and Reid give thoughtful, respectful, and entertaining analyses of a whole variety of fanfiction. It’s made me think about and read fandoms I haven’t even heard of and couldn’t imagine existing, and it’s also brought my attention back to fics I read and loved and allowed to get buried in my ao3 bookmarks. It’s tender and funny and it will open your eyes to all kinds of beautiful stories. More than anything, this is a podcast about storytelling, about what great writing means to an individual and how words can change our lives.

Finally, The Fic Book Club I’ve Always Yearned For
At the risk of sounding too melodramatic, my life has improved miraculously since I started listening to this podcast. My skin is clear, my crops are watered, I always catch the bus on time, and my clothes are never wrinkled. Okay, that might be pushing it, but for real: this podcast is an absolute delight and listening to it always brightens my day. Nicole, Brenna, and Reid create such a warm, positive atmosphere as they discuss their favorite tropes and fic lines, explain fandom history, and yell into a patient, welcoming abyss. It really is like being in a book club, the ones you see in movies and television shows where all participants are respected and trusted and no one talks over each other. I especially love how careful they are to provide content warnings and context for certain situations. It's easy to see (hear?) how much they care for each other, for the stories, and for their listeners. I am very excited to hear more from them!

The perfect fandom podcast!
I subscribed as soon as the intro episode dropped because I had a good feeling about it. Brenna, Nic, and Reid are so fun to listen to together and remind me a lot of my own friend circle! They all have a way of talking about the fics where I don’t have to be in the fandom to understand why the fic is so good, like describing fandom histories to catch you up to speed or the personality traits usually attributed to characters in fic as a whole. I never expected to learn about Inception fic, but I was so entertained and intrigued! I think talking about fic has the potential to be cringy, but I’ve never experienced that with them. It feels like a very mature take on fan literature and fandom as a whole, with really cute moments of screaming into the void over certain lines an author writes. I always walk away from an episode with new ways of thinking about wording, genres, and the fun ways tropes can be used. I think it also helps that this podcast comes from people from super diverse fandoms who write themselves. I’m always excited for a new episode and if you’re in fandom of ANY kind, give this a listen. You’ll feel like you’re a part of their friend group too :)

The fic podcast I didn’t know I needed
From the jump, this podcast is funny, warm, well-produced, and brimming with enthusiasm. Reid, Brenna, and Nicole bring their love and expertise in fic writing and in fannish spaces to analyzing a medium in a passionate, literary, and respectful way. Even reading fic in fandoms I’ve never touched or some combination of the co-hosts themselves haven’t, they do a good job at contextualizing trends in fic writing history and genre in a way that lets the fics stand on their own and still bring insightful and meaningful discussion in a way that makes me want to read them. I’m looking forward to seeing this podcast grow and reading the fics they pull me into.
