Die STH Basel wurde im Jahr 1970 gegründet (ehem. FETA) und ist eine staatsunabhängige Hochschule für evangelische Theologie. Sie bietet ein akademisches Theologiestudium an und ist als universitäre Institution akkreditiert. Somit ist sie den universitären Fakultäten gleichgestellt.
