The Anime craze hit the United States in the 90's, and US broadcasting networks jumped on the train. Sadly for anime fans there was a catch to anime's brought to the US. The production companies that bought the licenses to translate (dub and sub) to English, took many liberties and applied heavy censorship to the shows that we loved. Between the censorship, Americanization, and episode bans some anime's took on a completely different feel from the original shows.
