Magnificent
Josh Good and the Faith Angle Forum have created something extraordinary: nuanced conversations about religion. GetReligion’s Terry Mattingly has been shouting from the rooftops about the religion angle in journalism for years and now, someone is helping him fill in that gap. Good allows journalists, academics, policy makers, and ethicists to converse on their topics of choice. When the two guests get to talking, something magical happens. An honest talk about the issues and fascinations about belief and faith. The guest list includes an astounding number of notable names like Emma Green, Daniel Krauthammer, and David Brooks. This is a podcast that is vital for a functioning society.

Genuine and insightful
Religion in the public square can be contentious with sides dug in on either side of issues. Journalists are often ill equipped to get the depth of concern of faith communities and faith leaders are not always great at illuminating their interests to the general public. With a friendly, conversational, inquisitive and engaged tone these podcasts strike the balance of being faithful to the needs of religionists who are put to answer relevant questions of public concern. Hence they reveal the overlap, as if on a Venn diagram, the humanity transcending and sometimes uniting the interests of people of different faiths and different political (conservative to progressive) persuasions

Exactly what we need more of
Grateful for this new podcast and format. If we had more dialogue like this, we would have more healing and less division, more productive solutions of problems facing us now and in the future.

Depth at the intersections of faith and everything else
What a great format. In each episode, you get such a great mix of perspectives, and with the given format, it leads to such a great mix of //questions//. This is not another “Christian bubble” podcast, and yet it manages to retain and locate the Kingdom impulse in any of their wide-ranging discussion. Bravo!

Refreshing, relevant, urbane dialogue
This is my new favorite podcast about religion and public life. Your lineup of guests at the launch of this is incredible, and sets the tone for an uplifting and intelligent dialogue for issues that often generate more heat than light. Keep it up!

Interdisciplinary and insightful
This new podcast from EPPC's Faith Angle Forum clearly presents complex cultural challenges and offers insightful analysis from guests with a grasp of interdisciplinary solutions. The first episode is wonderful. Brooks tackles thorny topics using economics, psychology, philosophy, religion, and politics. This is a deep, thick, smart new podcast. I'm subscribed and look forward to its future.

Refreshing and enlightening
It is a breath of fresh air to see two people from different perspectives actually have a reasonable dialogue for a change. Faith and politics may be delicate subjects but they are handled well in this conversation. This podcast meets a very serious need in our country. I look forward to listening to more!

Faith Angle 1: love is the answer?
Listened to Mr Arthur Brooks bring out nation’s current polarized political environment into a summary that is easy to understand. Contempt, not anger is at the root of this. The vast majority of citizens don’t care, but those on the extreme left and right do care because there is money to be made in it. His proposed solution, which I heartily endorse is to respect those who disagree with you......and to love them! Praise the Lord for that. Dave in Dublin OH.

The Hidden Factors Influencing Our Life Together
I’ve really enjoyed following the Faith Angle Forum over the years, and I’m so glad it’s making a more public offering of its insights now. In the same way that Freakonomics showed “the hidden side of everything” from an economics perspective, Faith Angle shows how deeper moral, spiritual, and religious impulses shape so much of the news and events around us. Too many journalists are unequipped to deal with these factors, so they get left out of the story. But they make an enormous difference. Really excited for what I have heard so far, and for forthcoming episodes. The guests are outstanding and Josh Good is the kind of even-handed facilitator that we need more of today. If you’re tired of the media of contempt, try this out and have hope again for our democracy.

Civil yet insightful conversation!
I throughly enjoyed the first show! It’s refreshing to hear convictional yet irenic conversation between thoughtful and humble minds about the realities of public life and practical human concerns - like love and meaningful work. Far from seeking to merely ‘win the argument’, this podcast desires to ‘understand the person’ and communities of America’s religious landscape. Highly recommended!

Finally. Seriousness AND neighborliness.
If you’re exhausted by our “everything is political” cultural moment, this podcast is potent medicine. By pairing interesting thinkers, writers, faith leaders with prominent journalists, a much needed space for meaningful conversations is being carved out under the careful shepherding of Josh Good and EPPC. My hat is off to Josh for spearheading this effort. I’m subscribed and plan to listen regularly for a welcome dose of seriousness and neighborliness—two much needed ingredients in our national discourse.
