Bar None best Beatles podcast
Negative reviewers don’t get it. This is a podcast by people who understand how to analyze and discuss art from a place of deep appreciation and love. My understanding and appreciation of Beatles but also pop music in general and certainly ‘60s pop music has grown exponentially since becoming a listener. Each episode is like a class taught by two really cool teachers.

The BEATLES podcast
I listen to a lot of them and fabcast is my favorite. Nothing is Real pc is a close 2nd. If possible make more per month please. I disagree with y’all about S Wonder Mt Rushmore reference, he doesn’t belong there. I may get a greatest hits album by SW at the most. Otherwise , Love the show. More!

Best Episode Yet
I have to hand it to you both, this latest episode (1969 pt1) is fantastic. I also love the way you put the bigger Pop landscape in perspective, and demonstrate whatever else in any given year is “Beatles “, whether CSN in 69, or Prince in ‘84. Please continue to keep the amazing analysis coming, and thanks for the hours of enjoyment

Green No...?
Intense, often lyrical, and obviously well-informed pod. It’d be improved if they shared more of the knowledge underlying their opinions—there’s little that a Beatles maniac will learn that’s new here. They also don’t focus enough on...the Beatles. There are many many episodes on their solo careers (especially Paul; these guys love Paul), which would be fine except they haven’t covered all of the Beatles material. Why is there a Tug of War episode but not an Abbey Road? Would love more Beatles coverage. As others mention, their love and praise sometimes goes overboard—everything Paul does is the best, the absolute best; it’s not enough to say he gets deep, he gets “just as deep” as John. It’s a bit hyperbolic. All that said, Howie & Bard are sharp and entertaining. It’s good stuff but you have to pick and choose.

Stop comparing George to the other two
You are constantly, constantly comparing everything George does to both Paul or John and then getting disappointed that it’s not Lennon-Mccartney song/performance. It doesn’t makes sense. It’s like comparing apples to oranges. Of course it’s not gonna be like a Lennon-Mccartney song because he is not them. He is his own person. Listen to George’s music like you would any other artist. Why do you have to look at his work with this extra filter? This doesn’t mean that you are not allowed to criticize him or that you should lower the standards for him. It just means stop bringing bias to his work. If you actually stoped imposing all these ideas and expectations onto George’s work (like John would have said it this way, Paul would have done this to it), you would enjoy more of George’s work as it is, as he wished to be experienced by his audience.

A Dramatic Delivery But Fun
The hosts are unabashed Beatles fans. They are also fans of popular music in general. They deliver their points with very dramatic emphasis but it is clearly heartfelt. They also drop some informative points along the way. They don’t disguise what they are and I find it a fun and interesting listen. A bit of a time capsule of growing up in the 1970s also if you have any interest in that era. Worth a listen to me for the long time Beatles fan.

Good, not great. Worth a listen
I have listened to several episodes. I like most of them. I grew up in New Jersey so I get the references to WABC and WMCA. I like the three opinons but they don't usually disagree with each other. More like affirming. Not sure where they get their facts or just speculating. I haven't learned anything new but it is entertaining.

Depends on your taste
I admire their knowledge and passion on The Beatles, but I agree with other listeners that their adoration towards them can become grating can make me (Who’s a huge Beatles) fan roll their eyes. For example when they talk about the McCartney song That Would Be Something, which is about two and half minutes of only contains one lyric repeated over and over again, for like 10 minutes. And they go on to talk about how deep and genius it is. Just too extreme in their opinions both negative and positive. But at the same time it can also be interesting. So just give it a listen and decide whether it’s your cup of tea or not.

Beatle fans
The inability to think critically seriously undermines the credibility of this podcast. They obviously know their stuff, but can’t seem to pull away from the intense gravity of their fandom (particularly of John Lennon). All lyrics by Lennon are proclaimed as some kind of confession full of meaning, wisdom and worthy of dissection. Even throwaways like Ask Me Why. Their brand of blind adulation becomes tiresome after awhile. I did manage 3 episodes, but I need something that challenges the notion that they were Gods or geniuses or both. They were four flawed but talented men whose timing and luck were impeccable. Meeting George Martin also figures heavily into their success.

Less than fab
Two very knowledgeable and enthusiastic guys who seem to agree about everything which makes each episode predictable. They overstate their opinions, both to the negative (“it’s crap “) and the positive (“it’s sent from God”) which hurts their credibility on both ends. They select good topics but, to fill the time, can’t resist lapsing into dime store psychology and amateur musicology. But you will always learn something from them.

A Must Listen
After much delay and trepidation, I finally listened to the Life & Death episode, which concentrates on the tragic events of December 1980. Though at times I felt like I was being punched in the gut all over again, I must commend the show for treating such a difficult topic in a mature and moving way. While other episodes have certainly been more joyous and uplifting, Life and Death is a sober masterpiece and a must listen.

The Best
The best Beatles podcast ever. No one else is even close. They are tough, rude, and honest. And, their passion is perfect for their subject matter. The episodes are long and meaty, and absolutely deserving of multiple relistens. They are really on a roll right now, as well. The podcast is evolving and just getting better. Like the Beatles!

Pompous and overblown but also very amusing. Imagine that Comic Book Guy started a Beatles podcast. They believe that they can’t be wrong

FAB podcast
This podcast is essential for all Beatle fans, interesting, insightful, fun and hard not to binge on. Highly recommended and a big THANK YOU! UPDATE! Keeps getting better! Used Apple playlist to duplicate the Green Album. Fantastic! Of course we’ve heard them all before but not together in this order. GREAT JOB!!! Thanks and a hat tip!

Very entertaining and informative!!!
I discovered this by accident. I was reading something about “Flowers in the Dirt” and they provided a quote by Mark Lewisohn which referenced a link which brought me to this podcast. I love their passion and humor and it has rejuvenated my love for the Beatles as well as their solo work. They have a great knowledge of not only the “official” releases but also bootlegs ( both audio and video). They have had Beatles expert Mark Lewisohn on their program a few times. The best episodes so far are the ones with Mr. Lewisohn and the Life and Death episode about John Lennon’s murder.

Good But Silly
There is good information here; but their overblown worship of every Beatle song, rhythm guitar, drums, lead guitar, vocal arrangement, etc. loses any relativity because each song is perfect, and is the best ever made. And the song after that is even better. The next song is even better! Uh huh. In the same way; they are ridiculous in asserting that each and every person on Earth was put here to listen to the Beatles... and THEY were put here to give meaning to our lives. Did I say these guys are “overblown”? Oh yeah. If you listen to a few episodes, you’ll realize I’m not exaggerating.

This Podcast will make you happy
Engaging, deep, and yet accessible, this marvelous podcast deals with the facts, songs, technics, the politics and the joy of beeing a Beatles or simply a Beatles Fan. As a Beatles buff myself (from France) I found myself immediatly hooked. A dedicated and well-informed team will bring knowledge, analysis, strong opinions regarding our favorite band. Congrats and thanks !

The best, most honest and knowledgeable (and funniest) Beatles podcast there is
My only criticism is that there’s not more episodes, because this is the best Beatles podcast out there. The hosts know their stuff and beyond - and their perspectives are original and fresh. Also, they’re hilarious and I love how conversational they are. It feels like I’m hanging with my Beatle-loving musician buddies. Keep em’ coming, guys!

Needs weekly episodes
An absolutely entertaining and hilarious podcast. The hosts have immense working knowledge, fascinating interpretations, and great insight about all things Fab. The Lewhison episode is just about the best discussion I've heard on the Beatles. Lots of cursing but other than that, excellent!

Excellent
Hooked after one episode. I've searched for a good Beatle-centric podcast for years. Found nothing worthwhile. This is different. Really passionate and knowledgeable. One of the guys actually knew John. First class - highly recommend!

Compelling & brilliant podcast; not just for Beatles fans but music fans as well.
This is a fantastic series, I thoroughly enjoy each episode. I'm a Beatles fan, more casual than diehard, however I found FABCAST full of great information that helps me understand more about the Beatles' music and the context of the culture and artists. The FABCAST hosts give detailed breakdowns of the tracks and juxtapose subtleties against other occurrences of the time to emphasize motives and build appreciation of the simplicity and depth of the Beatles' messaging and musicianship. FABCAST helps you listen with new ears to what is without a doubt the most innovative music coming from the best musical act of the 20th century.
