Soleil Ho is so smart and funny and kind, and I love the questions she asks her guests. So glad she’s sharing her knowledge of food, and it makes me appreciate living in the Bay Area!

This episode makes my blood boil. I can cook good food well enough for cheaper and not have to tip for subpar service. I generally like the podcast but this is not edifying.

Love Soleil’s (and Justin’s, previously — miss your voice!) scope, breadth, humor, and emotion in each episode. Makes me proud to live in the Bay Area and hear from so many different and local stories. I look forward to this podcast every week, thanks so much for creating it!

As someone who worked in the food industry for almost a decade. I always felt like the angry brown man for all the white insensible foolisher that would happen behind the scenes in restaurants, bars and coffee shops. Thank you!!!

Why dost thou insist on the editorial cut-ins? You have a newspaper column for that. I want to hear what your interviewee has to say. You’re undermining the value of your own podcast, to say nothing of the narrative flow of the interview. Do yourself a favor and let the subject speak for herself!

It was honest and refreshing

Celebrating Palestinian anything in the chronicle has been absent for generations. Listening to this podcast has been thrilling in the appreciation for authentic chefs of all backgrounds. As a native San Franciscan, I am excited about this change in the chronicle and I look forward to hear Serena, soleil, and Justin’s take on San Francisco as we emerge from the pandemic.

Entertaining and thoughtful mix of interviews, context, discussion, efficient advice, and lots of laughter. The hosts seem like they’re having a great time - give this show a try even if you live outside the Bay Area!

This is a phenomenal new podcast! Not easy to launch a food podcast amid a pandemic, but Soleil and Justin are doing a compelling, nuanced job.

Excited to find a podcast about food. So disappointed. Way to much of the time it was just buzzword string together with little interesting information.

Soleil is such a wonderful addition to the SF Chroncicle staff and I’ve been a consistent follower of her work. Loving the banter of her and Justin on Extra Spicy — A thoughtful, and always timely show!

I was introduced to Soleil’s brilliant food criticism through Racist Sandwich. I still love and subscribe to that podcast. But I’m so glad to have her voice in my earbuds again. Thanks for telling your truth!

Sorry about the immature tone of this podcast. I looked forward to it as a Chronicle subscriber, but sorry to say the hosts sound like giggling teenagers and I’m not in on the joke. Good bye!

Yeah another political podcast wanting to be a food podcast. Such original content and concept...yawn.

I subscribed to the SF Chronicle for Soleil Ho content. I only listen to one other food-related podcast (Kitchen Sisters) and this one is a wonderful addition. Love both hosts! Now I’m craving a pickle!
