These teachings have cultivated my understanding of the Gospel like no other. Tim is so evidently led by the Spirit, and his doctoral background in Hebrew scripture certainly helps! I have listened to nearly every episode, yet some I return to again and again for replenishing hope in our God. Thank you, Tim, for making this invaluable resource accessible to Christians, nonbelievers, and anyone curious about the Bible. Tim has a way of bringing me in and hang in his every word. His teaching is attention grabbing. I could listen to him all day. Great story teller and Bible teacher.

Had to stop listening at a half episode (the Crocus Flower and the Empty Tomb) due to gross inaccuracies. The speaker states that none of the Twelve were eyewitnesses of the Crucifixion. Has the speaker never read the Gospel of John, 19:26-27? He also implies that none of the Twelve followed Jesus after He was arrested in the Garden of Gethsemane; it seems the speaker purposefully does not want to recall John 18:15-16, which talks of Peter and John being present outside the trial of Jesus, or Mark 66 which talks of Peter’s presence. The speaker is trying to make a point about the importance of women to Jesus’ ministry and in doing so misleads his listeners. It makes it appear he has an agenda rather than trying to provide clear, full context in teaching; which undermines his credibility. There are too many other resources available to waste time and potentially negatively affect spiritual growth in God’s Word by listening to someone either without adequate knowledge to teach, or with an agenda meant to mislead.

The teachings on this podcast are so perspective shifting. I listened to it a few years ago at the beginning of what turned out to be a really hard season in my life. It was used to draw me into the scriptures with a willingness to see what they had to say about Jesus, instead of what I thought was said. I’m now listening to it again. Thank you Tim and Bible Project, your work is used to change lives.

I’m grateful for the blessing of this podcast. Mr Mackie is a great teacher. The Bible comes alive.

Be prepared to see the Bible in a new light. These sermons are rich with God’s truth, grace, and love.

These sermons have stirred in me such a deep love and devotion to Jesus and His word. I never spent much time in my Bible in my life, but since listening to the Gospel According to Matthew 6 months ago, it’s my favorite part of my day. Thank you Tim for loving Jesus and history so much. Your love opened my eyes and inspired me to seek a relationship with our maker, and it’s the best thing I’ve ever done. Only complaint is that I wish there were new sermons being put out.

Just found this podcast and can’t get enough. Tim has a way of explaining the Bible that is both informative and interesting. I’ve known Jesus for decades but this is helping me know Jesus now in new ways.

Love Tims ability to share the scope of this complex wonderful book. He’s helped me overcome a lifetime in a heavily authoritarian ministry who taught me what to think. I love the multitude of ways Tim helps me see the Bible from a whole new perspective, removing my old lenses to see it all afresh. A completely beautiful podcast with wonderful practical applications that have changed my life in meaningful ways.

Tim has a lifetime of knowledge that he is giving sermons on and it never disappoints! Wish there were more!

It’s hard to decide if I like this more than the Bible Project podcast. It’s hard to beat the back and forth between Tim and Jon on the BP podcast, but I really learned a ton from Tim’s messages in this podcast, and his style is super winsome but lets you feel the weight of scripture coming down. I am on my second time through. Just listened to Jonah for a third time. So rad! Thanks Tim and whoever took the time to pull all these together. Such a valuable teaching resource.

I am always surprised by how Tim’s sermons and teachings touch my heart and hep me grow as a follower of Jesus. Just when I think I’ve heard the story or message before, he sheds light on the Bible for me in a way I’ve never before experienced.

This is the fifth time I have read the Bible in a year. I wish I knew about this podcast the first year I read the Bible because this has completely changed my understanding of the Bible. It gives you a whole new and wonderful way to see the Bible and all the history and back-stories. I feel like I was doing Bible “lite” before listening to this. Be sure to start with episode one and then follow straight through with the Book of Jonah. BTW that is not a story about a whale 🐳.

Tim Mackie brings out the comedy, irony and absolute power of the book of Jonah. His knowledge, attitude and sincere joy in God’s Word is contagious. How refreshing to learn and grow with explanations that are researched and easy to understand. Putting things in context and explaining the connotation of words and stories used to teach us about Jesus makes it easier to form a personal relationship with Jesus. I highly recommend this.

I became familiar with Tim thru the Bible project. I am a Portland area local and hearing him reference local haunts like oaks park and hearing how he was saved at skate church (my son and I have been there several times) was very refreshing. I grew up in the california surf/skate culture of the 70’s and still ride today. His ability to see the scriptures from a new perspective really has captivated my attention. Thoroughly enjoy his desire to reveal Jesus and the Christian life in practical daily living it out terms. His Ephesians series is excellent.

I’ve always known there is more to Christianity than showing up Sunday. This podcast helps listeners really dig deep into God’s Word to gain a personal experience to what God has been trying to tell us for thousands of years. Tim Mackie is an amazing teacher of the Bible. I’ve listened to all of his podcast and I’m completely amazed at his fresh take on very familiar Biblical passages. Do yourself a favor and listen.

Man! This podcast is awesome! Anyone looking to further there knowledge about things in the Bible that just get looked over Tim is the one to listen too. I don’t read much, just can’t stay focused, but I love listening to sermons & speakers. This is the perfect mix in my opinion I have learned so much through it and still learning have listened to nearly all of them! If I could rate it 10 stars I would!!

I was familiar with The Bible Project through their animated illustrations shown at the youth group I helped at, but was unaware of the other podcasts offered until our pastor mentioned it at church last Sunday. I started all the way back at the beginning of My Strange Bible and am really enjoying it. I have been a Christian most of my life, studied theology and non-profit business for 2 years at a Protestant school, and served in a teaching and Pastoral roll for many years. I still feel like I know nothing and recently a bit disoriented and unconnected. I love learning and appreciate how Tim presents these teachings. Learning the Hebrew and Greek words and meaning and the backstory of the accounts of the Bible is exciting. Having been to Israel, many teachings take me back and I imagine walking through those places again. I look forward to listening to more episodes. Thank you Tim for your humble spirit and willingness to bring the good news to the world.

I thank God often for Tim Mackie and His willingness to be led by God. Our Nation needs a true refresher of the purpose and life application of The Bible. Tim Mackie has become and is still becoming a true instrument of the revival of God’s heart for us. Tim’s zeal for the pursuit of truth in the Word in combination with his creativity in utilizing present relevant platforms and ancient methods of storytelling engages the hearer in the understanding of the most important life instruction manual that ever existed. If there was ever a time that we need refreshed understanding of the scripture -it is now. Tim is a true God honoring, humble seeker of the truth with the sacrificial willingness to be led. In turn he has become a great ambassador for God. May the fruit of these works be multiplied thousandsfold. If you seek truth, if you seek further understanding of God’s purpose for the world and in your life, dust off your Bible and listen on.
