3. The original Shattered Glass podcast was run by three women: Co-host Monica Hershberger, co-host Marita Garrett and Producer Jessica Kaminsky. They started the podcast in 2017 and took a pause in 2020 because Monica Hershberger had her first child. They extended the pause when the COVID outbreak happened. In June 2021, the three women saw the podcast name being used by Kristen Bell and Monica Padman. Podcasts are protected under the US trademark law, and the three women from the original podcast have held the name since 2017. The three woman reached out to Kristen and Monica with no luck, but finally issued a cease and desist letter when on episode two of Kristen and Monica‘s podcast they openly acknowledge the original shattered glass podcast, admitted they knew about them and encouraged others to start podcasts in their name. Monica and Kristen have since stopped using the name Shattered Glass in reference to their podcast.
