The El Dorado Police Department is hosting the National Night Out, on Tue., Aug. 6th, from 5-7 p.m. at East Park. This is an annual community-building campaign aimed at fostering police-community partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie. National Night Out is a nationwide initiative that works to bring neighbors together and enhance the relationship between law enforcement and the communities they serve.
“The goal is to help get the community involved with local law enforcement,” said El Dorado Police Officer Kyle Warrington, coordinator of the event.

El Dorado Main Street held its quarterly Downtown Assembly on Tuesday, Aug. 8th at Charley’s Appliances.
The meeting was initiated by Jeff Christensen, the President of the El Dorado Main Street Board and he began by introducing Tyler Norris, a board member from the Branches Pregnancy and Family Resource Center.
Norris updated attendees on their building renovation at 107 N Main in El Dorado.
Following Norris, Thea Howard-Dickson, Executive Director of the Coutts Museum of Art, spoke about the museum's ongoing renovation.
City Engineer, Scott Rickard, then provided an update on several downtown El Dorado infrastructure projects.
Christensen asked Officer John Thompson of the El Dorado Police Department about the initiative to collect contact details from the business community.
Sierra Marie Bonn, El Dorado Main Street Communications Project Manager, detailed forthcoming Main Street events.
Christensen wrapped up the meeting, underscoring the significance of the "Thankful Thursday" events Downtown.

On Saturday, March 5, 2022 the El Dorado Chamber of Commerce hosted a Legislative Coffee sponsored by the Butler County Farm Bureau Association.
In attendance were District 12 Representative Doug Blex, District 75 Representative Will Carpenter and District 14 Senator Mike Fagg. They spoke to Butler County residents about the work they are currently doing on their behalf and answered questions.

Susan B. Allen Memorial Hospital opened its doors on September 19, 1931.
Ninety years later, they celebrated their continued service to El Dorado and the surrounding communities with an employee appreciation luncheon.
On Monday, September 20, 2021, a birthday celebration was held on the lawn in front of the section of the hospital building that houses the original structure.
