Jesus’ teachings are not recommendations for how we should “feel.”  They are commands for how we should act. Where we prefer to act in compliance with how we feel, Jesus calls us to act in a way that is often in defiance of how we feel.  What does that mean?  If we plan to follow the commands of Jesus, we will do some things we do not feel like doing.  Our gut (aka pride, selfishness, sinful nature, etc.) is going to tell us, “No, this doesn’t work for me.”  Jesus is going to tell us…..” IT AIN’T ABOUT YOU!   In Luke 6:27, Jesus says, “Love your enemies.” The word “enemy” elicits all kinds of feelings.  Today more than ever, we need to be reminded; it is not about our feelings. It is about our doings.

Knowing something through experience is different than knowing about something.  Head knowledge is good but heart knowledge through experiencing something or someone is way better.   Someone asks: "Do you know him?"  You can have one of three responses:  "I don't know him"  or "I know about him but we are not friends"  or "I know him personally and he is a close friend."   When it comes to God's love and your personal connection to Christ, God wants a heart - not just a head - connection!  There is a big gap between "I know a lot about God" and "I know him" by experiencing Him.  Distance and detachment versus closeness and connection.   More specifically, God's love was never intended to stay in your head.  It is not a knowledge thing it is a knowing that rises above lifeless knowledge.  God's love is intended to travel from your head and flood downward into your heart and change you forever.  It is a battle you must fight and win.  In Part 5 of theThe Inner Man men's expert and pastor Kenny Luck reveals the keys which unlock the gate so that you can experience a breakthrough of God's love in your life.  God's love is a fact but it is meant to be felt.
