TOPIC: The Word of God, part 1 I am reading Ezekiel 6:1-4 1. And the word of the LORD came unto me, saying, 2. Son of man, set thy face toward the mountains of Israel, and prophesy against them, 3. And say, Ye mountains of Israel, hear the word of the Lord GOD; Thus saith the Lord GOD to the mountains, and to the hills, to the rivers, and to the valleys; Behold, I, will bring a sword upon you, and I will destroy your high places. 4. And your altars shall be desolate, and your images shall be broken: and I cast down your slain men before your idols. As we know, Israel as a nation, was God's chosen nation. When Israel backslided and went back and worship idols, God was not happy with them. Israel was a nation, today they will cry for help from God, tomorrow they will leave God after victory and started worshipping idols. Despite of this attitudes, the Love of God was still with them, to the point that, God destroys who ever fight with Israel. Is only God that can determine how to deal with them over worshipping idols. God revealed to Ezekiel what they did, and where they raise their trust on. They boasts on their high mountains, hills, rivers, valleys, altars, idols images and their slain men, and forgot the LORD who saved them from the land of Israel. One thing I noticed from our God is that, before He resume His actions against you, He will first of all send you a message through a prophet, a pastor, an elder, an Evangelist, etc, which in the message, you have two options, either to repent from your sins or face His anger. Just like what happened in Nineveh, that great city. He sent Jonah to them to warn them without destroying them immediately, and they all repented, including their Kings. Read Jonah chapters 1-4 and you will get the whole story and how they repented. This was exactly what God did with Israel. He sent Prophet Ezekiel to them to prophesy to them that He (God) will destroy those things they place their trust on and those things they worship as god. Let me tell you my brother and my sister, if God is angry with you, only His anger can destroy the whole nation. What are you boasting on. Have you been ignoring Word of God? Some of you, you will today sin and cry for forgiveness, tomorrow you will go back and sin again, that same sin. Now that, you have heard from His servant, Will you allow Him (God) to live in your life? To direct your steps, your deeds, your life, your emotions, the type of food you eat, type of friends you keep, etc? Don't wait until God send a Prophet to you before you repent. Hearken unto this message. Why not repent now and forsake all your sins, leave the idols you worshipped, break the images you kept in your house, come out from the rivers you are possessed, remove your trust from the mountains and hills you hid yourself, and burn that idols altar you builds for the Satan just for protection, for disappearing, for favour, etc. Jesus is calling you now, He is coming back to earth any moment from now. You could be a church member, yet, you are not born again. You could be an elder, Evangelist, Deacon, Bishop, pastor, priest, apostle, prophet, Oracle, yet, you are not a born again. II Corinthians 3:17 4. Psalm 119:45 5. Romans 6:22 6. I Peter 2:16 Let me read John gospel chapter Eight verse Seventeen, I read. 36. If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed. This passage proved that, the world leaders may free you, yet, you are not free. Time by time issue will arise, and your case will be revisited, despite that, you were free. Being free in human perspective, is bail. You can not totally be free, but you can be partially free from bail. But if Jesus Christ shall make you free, you shall be free indeed, not by bail. What is the meaning of being free? Being free means the state of not being imprisoned, enslaved or bondaged. Before man can be free, he must have been in prison, in slavery or in bondage. The children of God, Israel, were in bondage in one of the ancient nations, Egypt. The children of Israel were not prisoners of war, because, they were not captured during war. They were not slaves, because Egyptians Government did not bought them from slave masters or merchants. So, what was the condition or the position of Israel in the land of Egypt? They were in bondage. They were not allow to control their affairs or giving them freedom of expression or worship. They were tortured and beaten as they carry out most difficult task. Incase you are not clear with what to be free is, consider the following: To be free also means to be independent, loose from, uncommitted, to be off the hook and one to be on his or her own. Therefore, to be free is when nobody monitor your steps again, but everything is decided by yourself. I am free is a personal statement made by the one who experienced freedom. This statement is motivated through incident or occurrence one found himself and later was no more there. Why are you freed and from where? There is always a purpose for everything that happened in the surface of the earth. That purpose must always accomplish it's mission. You were saved and set free from your sins and by doing so, Jesus brings you back closer to God, to serve Him and Worship Him. Sin is the greatest act that man commits whereby enslaved man, torture man and decides to man against man's will. So, God set you free to serve Him through His Son, Jesus Christ. Why were you in bondage or slavery or imprisonment? This is because you where entangled in sin, the greatest enemy of God. Evil thought in you is the reason you entangle in sin. What ever you do, your heart first of all evaluate before you perform the act. Who can set you free from your sins? The answer is Jesus Christ. It is you that can decide whether you should be set free or not. The determination lies on you. Jesus is always ready and make Himself available for you once you call upon His name and pray for Him to save you and set you free. The portion we read before now in John gospel chapter 8 verse 36 says: if the Son of man shall set you free, you are free indeed. Therefore, you are free the moment you accept this message of freedom that Jesus the Lord and your Saviour. Another names that could be used in place of Free or freedom are Liberty, Liberation, Release, Deliverance, Delivery, Amnesty, Pardoning, etc Let us read Galatians 5:1 Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free, and be not entangled again with the joke of bondage.
