How many other things in this world have stood the test of time as perfectly as the Word of God? I can tell you. Unless they are of God or created by God, or put into motion by God, the answer is 0. His truth is eternal. We live in a world that tells us there is no absolute truth. I wonder what the world is so afraid of? In Matthew 6:19 Jesus talks about money for the first time, but not the last. He will go on to reference money and possessions in 42% of the parables He shares. He knows that there is a direct relationship between our financial management and our faith development. Simply put where our treasure is there our heart will be also. We cannot wait to share Jesus’ encouraging and challenging words on such an important spiritual issue in our faith. In this core 52 series we are examining the scriptures. We are challenged not just to know the Word of God but to learn to love it and then live it out.

January 14, 2024 @ 10:00 a.m. The Greatest Sermon of All TimeCore 52: Are you Good?Matthew 5:20Where did we get the acronym G.O.A.T.? When did we start using it? How does it apply to the sermon on the mount? We will touch on all of those this week. The sermon on the mount is found in Matthew 5,6,7. It is said to be the greatest sermon ever shared by Jesus. Who are these words for? How can we apply Jesus’ teachings today? This week we will look at the words found in Matthew 5:20. “20 For I tell you that unless your righteousness surpasses that of the Pharisees and the teachers of the law, you will certainly not enter the kingdom of heaven.”What is righteousness? How could ours possibly be greater than the religious leaders of Jesus’ time? Jesus follows that statement with words that get to the heart of the matter. Because it is the heart that matters.

December 31, 2023 @ 10:00 a.m. Core 52: The Son of ManDaniel 7:13Happy New Year, well almost. I cannot believe 2024 is here. What a year it has been. This is the perfect time to reflect and remember the events of the past year. I am sure that over the last few weeks many of you have done just that. We have experienced times of sorry and tragedy. We have seen events unfold around the world that did not even seem like they were even possible. We have seen pure evil manifest itself in ways that our ancestors could never have even dreamed of. It seems that the world around us is in constant turmoil. I would contend that the world is exactly how man wants it. Man’s ways are not God’s ways. Man’s pursuits often strive to work against God. What the sinful nature of man refuses to admit is that the more chaos that is around us, the more our souls long for peace. The more fear that man stirs up, the more our hearts long for safety and security. The more hate the world provokes, the more we long to love. The more division the world sews the more we long for unity. The more confusion the world brings about, the more we thirst for understanding. The more lies the world promotes the hungrier people get for truth. This week we get to introduce you to the Son of Man. Have you heard that title? Do you know why it is such an important one? We can’t wait to share it with you.

December 3, 2023 @ 10:00 a.m. Core 52: Atonement Isaiah 53:5Isaiah 53:5But he was pierced for our transgressions, he was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was on him, and by his wounds, we are healed.Have you heard that verse before? To be honest that verse, as stated, in today’s culture probably does not have much meaning. There are two big “churchy” words at the beginning and it ends with a phrase that really does not make sense to those who have not met Jesus yet. But this verse is so vital to our faith, that it must be understood. It must be shared with others. How can we share this so that others will understand? This week we will take this verse as well as the chapter around it and break it into each of its parts. Defining each of the key terms so that our culture today can fully understand its meaning and importance to our faith. And so that you can share this amazing truth with others!
