So far, Eric's life has been defined by much suffering and poverty. In this episode, we'll happily see a change for the better.

Eric continues to describe life at St. Lukes's. You can get an idea of the location if you look up Burgess Hill, Sussex. Much has changed since my grandfather was there, but some of the older buildings would have been familiar to him.

In this episode, Eric continues to share what life was like in St. Lukes. Cruel punishments were a part of the routine of life in this home of what were called "waifs and strays".

In our last episode we discovered that early in his life, Eric's mom abandoned him. In this episode, we find that as difficult as his life had already been, it was about to get worse.
