The big idea of part one is to stress the utmost importance of the gospel. Paul’s passion reveals that the gospel is what he cares about most. If someone were to gauge what you care about most based on how much passion you have for it, what would they come up with? We hope that by listening, reflecting, and seeking the Lord you are reminded of God’s grace to us and how we apply that daily toward others in our own lives.

In this fifth part of our podcast series we will look at James 4:1-10 and the topics of: Pride, Humility, and Lust. The big idea of part five is that strife and struggles come from our pride and selfish actions. We hope that by listening, reflecting, and seeking the Lord, we can see that by asking in faith, humility will always cure worldliness within us.

In this fourth part of our podcast series we will look at James 3:1-12 and the topics of: Influence, Responsibility, the Tongue, Communication. The big idea of part four of this series is that our words can cause "new life" or cause "destruction". We hope that by listening, reflecting, and seeking the Lord, we can learn that we must make a habit of thinking before we speak.

In this third part of our podcast series we will look at James 2:1-9 and the topics of: Favoritism, The Kingdom of God, and Love. The big idea of part three of this series is that personal favoritism (what some refer to as the sin of partiality) is sin because true love knows no partiality. We hope that by listening, reflecting, and seeking the Lord, we can learn to disregard favoritism when we start to love ourselves and others the way Christ loves us.

In this second part of our podcast series we will look at James 1:12-25 and the topics of: Endurance, Perseverance, Temptation, and Flesh and Spirit. The big idea of part two is to understand that temptation is the beginning of the sin process. We hope that by listening, reflecting, and seeking the Lord, we realize that self-control in the midst of temptation will keep is from sin and falling deeper into the sin cycle in our lives. 

The Book Of James The big idea of this six-week podcast series covers the book of James, a letter that serves as a how-to manual for the Christian life. When we deal with trials, contentions, and lack of faith, James teaches us that we can still have joy in the midst of our circumstances. The foundation of the book is the importance of faith; faith or the lack thereof can determine the direction of one’s life. In our first part of this podcast we will look at James 1:1–8 and the topics of: Trials, Testing, Foundation, Faith, and Unwavering. The big idea of this first podcast is that we can have joy in the midst of trials/tribulation when we have a firm foundation of faith.   We hope that by listening, reflecting, and seeking the Lord, we are able to further understand that when troubles arise, changing our perspective can aide in the process of spirituality.

In part two of our series, "Disciples", we will look at 1 Corinthians 7:17, and the topics of calling and vocation.  People are meant to live the life God has called them to.  Just as God calls the body of believers to go out and make disciples of all nations—as discussed in part one of this podcast series as we looked at the Great Commission in Matthew—God also calls individual believers to go and disciple others within their spheres of influence. The question we will explore during this podcast is: In what ways do you proclaim the gospel and disciple others in your sphere of influence? Identify the areas in which you can improve.
