English with the learners!
English with the learners!
Tanner LeTourneau
A podcast for English learners, by English learners, with their host... Tanner, an ESL teacher, methodologist, linguist, and language learner. Listen as English learners practice speaking about topics they choose. There isn't a huge focus on error correction here, just an opportunity to speak freely around a topic. You might even learn a thing or two! For my students: listen to your own episode as well to see if you can identify any of your own mistakes or to see if you overuse certain words/expressions.
Culture and the pandemic with Stepan, David, Martin, and Libor
The pandemic sure has changed a lot, but here we discuss some of the cultural changes and how different websites/brands may have been affected.  The guys did a great job of exploring different topics/ideas within this theme, for the most part, had some nice pronunciation! Something to be careful about: using the present simple and present continuous - I use/do/eat/try (something) every day or regularly vs I'm doing something right now. Stay tuned for next episode!

Practicing conditional
Join us for an interesting (and different) conversation. Instead of a specific topic, the guys wanted to practice the grammar for conditionals! Listen in to hear about some hypothetical situations. Something the guys did well: They engaged each other with questions. Nice vocabulary: bulldog, Shar Pei, pointer, self-aware, dialect, signature in the snow. Things to be careful with: 2nd conditional •if + past simple, ...would + base form of verb / 3rd conditional • if + past perfect, ...would + have + past participle

What is this?
Hey everybody!  Welcome to our monthly podcast lesson. This is how it will work: 1. One week before the podcast we decide on a topic 2. During the week before the podcast, you watch videos, talk with friends, and/or read articles related to the topic. 3. On podcast day, we start by discussing what we've found, learned, etc. 4. We create a podcast outline (introduction, discussion points, and a goodbye) 5. We record, choose some music, and publish. 6. Enjoy your 10-15minutes of monthly fame!
