Adore
I adore Amory and Ben, love their chemistry, love the research put into the show, and I always walk away learning something new!
There was an episode where they went to a haunted hayride that was particularly delightful.
Dunno what’s up with some of these reviews, their complaints don’t even match topics discussed on the show or things anyone has ever even said. This podcast IS still about reddit threads and internet mysteries, there is NO mansplaining, NO gleeful promotion of genocide, and absolutely no one (not even on other podcasts, or platforms, or even in ads, or anywhere else) is demanding children have sex reassignment surgery.

great show
I'm so glad to hear more episodes with both Amory and Ben - their cohost chemistry really makes the show for me, even/especially when they're just bringing each other interesting Reddit threads to discuss. Scrolling through these comments, it's wild to see so many complaints about the politics from both right *and* left wing listeners. If so many are sure they're seeing the opposite bias, I think it says more about the political climate than the show.

USED TO BE GOOD
Till it got political!!! Now they’re saying that it should be mandatory that all kids get a sex change operation! If all boys are girls then all girls are boys, then… well that’s what the liberals want!!!! TRUMP TRUMP TRUMP

Sigh
I like this podcast until I listened to the man host mansplain to the woman host why she should have a baby and how she will be happier when the baby comes and yeah no thank you. I tried going back and all I can hear now is lady host laughing at everything man hosts says and yikes.

Get rid of the Is Business Broken podcast, especially when they’re platforming the people that make life extremely unaffordable for the people in “flyover country.” Friggin coastal elites…

Just not that interesting.
Feel like a lot of recent episodes have gotten away fr any internet culture or technology angle and just rehashing (without any nuance) culture wars issues or dunking on whatever’s on R/all

We are done here
I can’t listen to ppl with absolutely zero mechanical sense talk about anvils. These ppl are ridiculous and totally out of their wheelhouse. Keep it low rent guys. I’m done, I’m out.

Tone deaf at best
Listened to this show for 6-7 years and it was ok for a mindless junk food listen until last month it platformed an absolutely chilling individual whose response to his country’s ongoing perpetration of war and genocide is… to create a podcast of stale analysis of fairytales using AI, including bot hosts. The Endless Threads hosts, faced with someone who is literally taking away space from actual creatives and human podcast hosts like themselves, asked no pertinent questions and in fact giggled gleefully. The whole thing was so dystopic. Turned my stomach.

Lost their ways
This used to be a great podcast about reddit stories and posts. Not so much any more

Zionist platform?
Incredibly disappointed with the recent episode featuring an “Israeli” guest; in a time where there is an ongoing genocide of Palestinians, the last thing that’s needed right now is giving a platform to a Zionist. Free Palestine.

never will listen again
i listened to this show for for years, but platforming an israeli in the midst of the ongoing genocide and forced starvation in gaza is morally reprehensible. i never will listen again

Boneheaded
The AI and Relationships (P1) is SO tone deaf, that I kept waiting for a punchline. Amory is profoundly mealy-mouthed throughout. Like worse than usual. Truly a hard (and final) listen for me.

Has lost its focus and fun
Back in the days where we were actually chasing down internet mysteries and finding piles of players in the woods, this was one favorite pods. More out just feels like a flavor of the week, what’s in the zeitgeist, no real substance review of trendy threads. Really disappointing fall from the days of a deep dive on Memes and Geetis….

PJ i think everyone here (and by here i mean listeners hahha) all have a crush on you.

Done listening after Piker episode
You can’t seriously be falling into the trap of platforming this guy… he is the Trump of the left. No real ideas, just streams of buzzwords. Constant inflammatory hateful speech towards “leftists,” “liberals,” and anyone interested in a 2-state solution for Israel/Palestine. He claims to be a socialist but on his own streams can’t define what it means or how it would be implemented in modern society or the US. People put him on their shoes cause they think he’s handsome. But inside he is rotten, and watching his channel makes that obvious. Do your research before putting on a pretty face because they’re a rising internet star.

Another podcast that could have been a tweet
Was genuinely curious about the meme that Americans lean on things. Took 20 mins out of my day to learn it came from a book written by a cia person. No other value or interest added. Respectfully, tell a story with substance or make it a tweet.
Skeuuurt
Is NPR biased?
It can be debated whether NPR has a liberal bias, but the bias of this show is quite clear. Amory is delightful but I feel that Ben Brock Johnson performs his beliefs continuously in many forms from episode to episode. A good show, but it could be better.

Love this show!
I’ve been listening to endless thread for years now, I was especially invested after listening to the kindness episode in the car with my parents and we were all sobbing haha. Anyway, I just listened to the meat episode and had to come on here to appreciate that endless thread includes all different voices and perspectives, including voices from people like Saladino who take simple questions as personal attacks lol. Well if anyone convinced me about how NOT to eat and how science doesn’t work it’s him. Anyway, if you appreciate honest reporting from podcasters that include humor and real stories and real data, this one’s for you! PS I love Amory’s giggle! Pure joy

Best podcast
The first time I listened to this was when my mom showed me the episode on the art of a wrinkle in time and being a person who loves creepy stuff this show is incredible

Breaking bread episode was my last straw.
So glad you guys gave voices to conservatives who have been treated like garbage and not just the hurt feelings of democrats. Please just call the episode “Breaking Democrats” because that was a slob fest with not an ounce of fairness to the other side. I hope you folks don’t call yourselves journalists because you don’t want a fair and balanced view of both sides. Clearly.

Great podcast
Surprised at some low reviews . Some may not be into what they research, find and discuss, but that shouldn’t skew the reviews. The way they present the topics and research them is fabulous and they include humor. I get that you may not be interested in some of the topics , but they do a great job and I love this podcast!

Good stories, bad hosts
Interesting topics are covered. But the hosts are a bit too giggly and easily amused. They sort of have stereotypical “morning TV host” perky personalities which is a bit annoying to listen to.

4.9 star out of 5 because……
Love the show, big fan. However this review pertains to the two most recent episodes on secret tunnels. I gave you a 4.9 out of 5 because you missed an opportunity to include a snippet of the song “Secret Tunnel” from the show Avatar the Last Airbender. I waited to no avail. Perhaps you can redeem yourselves by bringing me on the show.

I really want to give 5-stars
This show is awesome. I love all of the episodes except for the one about Carnivore diets. You would have been better informed to have interviewed Dr. Shawn Baker. I think Paul Saladeno is a total A-hole. I was a vegetarian for 23 years I have epilepsy which was awful and began suffering from an autoimmune disease. All of this improved when I started slowly converting to a meat-based/carnivore thing. Sadly there’s no mention in this episode of how carnivore people are encouraged to eat ethically sourced and regenerativly farmed animals which is an answer to a lot of climate concerns with factory farming.

TCAP episode.
Entirely too sympathetic to pedophiles/child predators. A mental illness? Give me a break. This is not “problematic” they have entirely brought any consequences on their own heads.

Invasive species
As a scientist I was a little confused about asking a gender studies ecologist to comment on the invasive species story. It soon became clear that neither knew the dangers of ecological destruction caused by invasive species, or at least downplayed it in an attempt to draw parallels to immigrants. While the two may share some commonalities, both hosts seemed far too uninformed about the topic and more worried about prioritizing “xenophobic” language about plants instead of eradicating things like zebra mussels that cost billions of dollars of damage in the Great Lakes. Idiotic.

Not what it was
I’ve been a listener since day one, but this podcast rarely covers any of the interesting content found on Reddit anymore. I’ve tried to continue listening, but it no longer catches or holds my interest. Sadly, I guess it’s finally time to unsubscribe.

Meh
This podcast has made really fun episodes where the hosts would track down internet mysteries and find backstories to internet content. It was always a little scripted but it was engaging.
I’m finding myself losing interest, as Amory seems to be more distant from the content and the focus of the show has shifted.
The most recent episode is about Ben and Quincy commenting about the earthquake in Turkey. While this is an important topic, it is a shift in mood from previous episodes.
I used to come to this show for lighthearted content, but now I find the podcast to be banal and tedious. Please bring back more of Amory’s laughter.

Downplaying Harm of Invasive Species, Major L 👎
Truly disappointed in the episode Worm Wars where they talk about how we shouldn’t be racist to plants and insects. Like, I believe there are racism issues present in ecology, but it is not about wanting to eradicate invasive species which are proven to be harmful to our environments. They drew comparisons to how our culture talks about immigrants and didn’t mention that the real issue is dehumanizing human beings and instead focused on how this was unfair to invasive species.
When a host mentioned that the invasive plants in their yard seem really bad, the response was that “plants have always moved around the globe” and that the idea of a native plant is socially constructed. Do they not realize how they sound anti-global warming people use “the planet has always had climate changes” or how people will downplay racism will bring up “we all came from Africa”? Ask anyone who knows about the subject and they will say the issue is THE RATE at which our environments are changing and being taken over by invasive species and that it is caused by humans and is largely preventable. Just because one professor somewhere has an idea doesn’t mean it is good or worthwhile.

These stories are weird, funny, and so human. This podcast is good for the world by reminding us there is kindness on the internet. I love Amory & Ben.
