DNP interviews Nurse Practitioner on Career advice, Challenges and Rewards
Dr. Miriam Amanda Smith interviewed Marcia Robinson, a Nurse Practitioner. They both shared some of their coping mechanism during the COVID crisis, it was not very comforting for all so nurses found strength in their peers and provided emotional and physical support. Teamwork was embraced to ensure that the patients receive the best care possible and that collaboration would prevent burnout episodes. Nurses were encouraged to balance work and self-care to provide care for their patients and themselves. Some institutions provided counselors and therapists for mental and spiritual support during this time of great apprehension. https://studio.youtube.com/channel/UCL5wOGSAK9Wu_Xe1RW7rArQ

3 Tips for New Nurses
3 Tips for Nurses in Chapter 7 “Nurses: The Guide to Empowering New Nurses…” Since Nursing can be physically and emotionally demanding. Ensure that you get adequate rest, stay hydrated, and maintain a healthy work-life balance. Regular exercise and mindfulness practices can help manage stress. As a young nurse, I recommend finding a mentor, an experienced nurse who can guide you. The mentor does not have to be at your workplace, however it would be great to have one there. In addition, stay committed to learning, because healthcare is constantly evolving. Develop strong communication skills. Effective communication is a key component in nursing. Remember, you will be interacting with patients, families, the interdisciplinary team, and more.
