The sixth episode of the Empathy Explorers Podcast
This episode is all about remote work, productivity and mentoring. Shpetim Ujkani reached out to have a chat and here we are. Shpetim is a product designer who works remotely for Givery, a Japanese Company. He has been working remotely from Kosovo for almost 10 years now. In our conversation he shares how he connected with companies all over the world, and how he’s able to get a job full time at those companies. Full time remote work is not easy, there are cultural differences. Creating a system for yourself to stay productive while working remote is key. Shpetim shares what system he uses to get his work done. All in all a packed episode with hopefully some valuable information. Enjoy!

What are tips for people starting out in UX Design? How can you speed up your design process? What F1 race would you watch live?

A lot of different questions. This episode is full of it. Last few weeks you were able to send in questions for me to answer. There was a lot of variety in the types of questions, but I was able to segment them in a few different categories. I also do some recommendations during the episode and those are all listed in the description, in case you're interested.

In episode 004 Doug Collins joins the show. Doug is an UX Designer, worked at multiple companies across different roles, and once saw the importance of User Experience Design and completely dove into that. Doug shares how he got to that point. He had to learn a lot from the failures that crossed his path but found a way to keep going. Doug now has a big design community on Twitter (25.000 followers by the time of writing). We discuss what works for him on the platform, how he keeps his followers engaged in the conversation and how he grew such a following. He calls it relatively easy to do, so keep listening if you want to grow a twitter following for yourself!

Welcome back! It's been a while but I'm happy to resume the Empathy Explorers podcast with a new episode. Helena Bukovac joins the conversation as we discuss topics that involve coaching and mentoring, business conferences, the importance of a passion project and much more. Helena lives in Croatia and is a teacher at Algebra University, coaches students on Springboard and Design Lab, while also working at an agency (Emondo). How she is able to manage all that, is one of the first questions that popped up. I share a stigma I have around business conferences and I hope Helena is able to counter that. She also shares her knowledge on 'learning and adapting' and gives an insight in why she started her Instagram as Buttondujour. Enjoy the episode!

Anzor had a post that went viral and I really want to dive deeper in what his thoughts were at that time and how to follow up on a viral post. We look at the differences between Russia and the Netherlands for the creative space and talk about his time management regarding freelance work, agency work and his last year in university.
