In this episode, I sit down with my two friends, Anthony and Spence to discuss how music brings people together. We also discuss how it impacts our mental health. This episode is really what happens when 3 friends sit down together to record a podcast. It's a bit chaotic, haha! There are lots of laughs though. On this week's episode, I sit down with Nina Swint. Nina is the founder of Out of Context Productions in Chicago. During my years living in Chicago, I worked with OOC running our social media and helping with the gigs. Nina moved to New York last year to start the next phase of her music career. I really enjoyed catching up with her and hearing some of her favorite memories from the OOC days plus hearing what she's up to now!

On this week's episode, Paisley and I discuss some of our fave film soundtracks. We start with Almost Famous and through the course of the episode, dive into how music in film can cause nostalgia.  Music can link a song to a scene in a film in your mind and help you emotionally respond to certain scenes, characters or actions in film. During this episode, I bring on one of my first friends from Chicago, Justin. During this chat, we talk about all things emo night and the emo scene in the Midwest. Through this conversation, we get to the root of why this is all so special for us and others like us. The Chicago emo scene and emo nights created a community for us, a family. It is unlike anything I've experienced anywhere in my life. We both owe so much to Chicago emo. It was fun to chat nostalgically for a bit about all the memories from those times.

On this week's episode, I have one of my oldest friends join me to discuss all things One Direction. What Jordan and I discover is that there is absolutely too much to possibly unpack in an hour's time. There was nothing weird about owning a One Direction tooth brush, what's weird is HOW much One Direction merch we  owned. And we don't wish for them to fully reunite because they've done more than enough for the fans.

This episode really was a battle of the accents! While we both don't exactly know what is next for the scene, we are hopeful in the future of pop punk.
