It gives me hope that we might be able to find common goals, and then go forward - maybe even pursuing diverse solutions from both sides - to accomplish the same goal. There were several solutions here that I had never thought of to reduce abortions; and it helped to know that both sides had that same goal. That actually surprised me a bit, and while it may not be true of all pro-choice advocates, it was good to know that it is true for some. So finding the common goals upfront seems to be a huge factor, that we can only accomplish if we don’t demonize each other. Good job elephant dialogues!

This podcast helped me to see a disturbing trend, that perhaps America is heading down the same path as some of the Middle East nations where the politics are based on hate. The introduction stated that we just need to learn how to disagree better; that is an insightful and helpful concept that we need to embrace as we discuss these serious national issues. Very well thought out format. Communication is literally everything and I often find that defining a few key pieces of terminology for the other person, of a differing viewpoint, before a fragile conversation starts often aligns purposes and gets rid of the illusion that the other person’s intentions are malicious. That would be a great episode! I’ll tune in every episode!

I avoid politics like the plague. But that habit has always felt wrong. I want to help my country become better but when debates are insult fests and ideal groups are so violently polarized... it just feels nasty, toxic, and impossible to solve. Elephant Dialogues is changing that for me. The world is crazy and it needs some sanity - and that’s what Elephant Dialogues is doing - finding our sanity and humanity again. The creative and honest approach of this podcast is opening up the world views and opinions of others in a way that makes them sympathetic and human. For maybe the first time in my limited and young experience in a harsh political climate - I can understand the other side. They’re human. They’re vulnerable. They’re all mostly interested in bettering our society just like me.

These are crazy times and with politics becoming increasingly polarized, divisive, and extreme. There is so little understanding or empathy from people who disagree on topics, but this podcast gives me some hope. I love the intention to increase dialogue, understanding, and respect even while disagreeing. All in all, I love this and am so excited to hear other discussions on these topics. Everyone needs this podcast.

One of the best podcasts I’ve ever listened to!! So so needed in our culture and country. It is so respectful of differing opinions, but also enlightening and teaches us how to respond and act towards people who believe differently than us. I seriously can’t recommend this enough. So interesting and just the intro alone gives me chills!!

As our country grows more divided on emotionally-saturated topics and political opinion, this podcast is a timely breath of fresh air. I’m interested in listening to the conversations that develop and committed to applying the demonstrated principles in my own conversations. This blind woman is grateful someone else is willing to respectfully tackle the elephants in the room and show me how to compare puzzle pieces more effectively!

Very thoughtful conversations geared towards helping us unite because of our differences. Something the world sorely needs right now. Not to agree necessarily, but to be okay not agreeing.

I got to listen to the first three episodes of Elephant Dialogues before it launched and I am so excited about it. I'm the kind of person who cares about politics and wants to be a good citizen, but at the same time I can't stand politics because so much contention and hatred is involved and it drags me down. Usually I avoid political conversations, articles, etc. because of this. However, it was incredibly refreshing to me to approach politics in such a different way through this podcast. I loved listening to the episode on abortion because two people with quite different ideas about such a heated topic were able to have a calm, respectful and meaningful conversation, and find common ground and common goals. This was my first time listening to something political and really wanting more afterward. I have both friends and family members on both sides of the political spectrum, and I love and respect both. I don't think either side is stupid or hateful. I think there are definitely extremists on both sides, and good and bad people on both sides, but I don't think a political stance or political party alone determines whether someone is a good person or an intelligent person. I think if we can learn to have constructive conversations as discussed in this podcast, we can start to see how good motives and intelligence really do underlie very different political stances, and maybe if we can see the good in each other we can get rid of the huge divide in our country, and perhaps even come up with some solutions together. Or at least have stronger friendships and family relationships! We can learn from each other if we will humble ourselves.
