Amaze host and fascinating guests
Listening to Electronically Yours makes me feel like a true in-the-know music insider. With Martyn Ware as my guide I am learning so much about the artists and industry professionals who don’t always get a spotlight turned on them. From legends like Moby to the avant- guard such as Scanner (Robin Rimbaud) to attention on those who work more behind the scenes in the music industry - wow! - who will be next on this podcast? There are gems of anecdotal insights peppered into every episode. Candid, authentic and engaging - if you love music as much as I do then this is a podcast for you!

Excellent!
Just recently discovered this and currently working my way through the back catalog. Martyn has an idiosyncratic style of interviewing. It can take some getting used to, but it’s worth persevering. I had doubts at first, but I’ve grown to love it. Fantastic stuff. Love The Human League and Heaven 17. Fascinating to get to know the guy behind those bands, and to hear him speak with other contemporaries who I know and admire, and to learn more about those who I don’t know much about but should. Please keep up the good work!

A Classic digging in with other Classics
I was appreciative if not a fan’s fan of early Human League. And now because of this podcast?Huge fan of Martyn. And so the music too, along with all the other crate digging it’s caused.

Fascinating
Nice casual approach with real conversations between the people involved in a very important part of my musical life. Easily 5 stars.

Love it
Listened to maybe 15 of these . I love the style and casualness of the interview . Also really enjoy all the accents and the mix of people he interviews . Found some people that I wouldn’t be interested in musically to be a great listen .

A who’s who of British 80s synth pop/new wave
All the guests clearly love Martyn, he must be the nicest guy in synthpop. It took a while to get used to his down the pub interview style but now I love it. The show is choc full of anecdotes and insights from titans of electronic music. I really hope one day he can get Chris Lowe, Phil Oakey (fat chance!), Kraftwerk, Bertrand Burgalat, Renegade Soundwave, Gillian Gilbert/Stephen Morris, and Peaches.

Great insight
Love the talk of music and synths. Casual and informal it’s like listening to friends talk and tell stories about their experiences over coffee. Nice work.

Unique insight, but a bit more preparation please
I’m going to give this an extremely enthusiastic five stars . Apple does not give a six star option but I would have knocked it out of the five star anyway because of one small detail I Love the insider perspective. However , he might consider doing a bit more research ahead of time on the artists. For the interview with Gary Numan, for example, he confessed that he did not know the full name of the album nor the single that is being released. But I had to find something to pick at in this otherwise incredibly immersive series of conversations... This is a musician who has has the ability to share some incredible insights through his conversations with other superstars of the age of new wave and synth. For example, in one conversation they discuss how songs used to be written and the producers role in those songs. It’s contrasted with the current way that pop songs are written and left me with a better understanding of why I find it hard to enjoy any music written by anyone Who started making music in this modern era of Apple garage band logic, and other digital crutches He says this is a series of podcasts as a way for him to overcome the COVID-19 crisis. I sincerely hope this continues this project as a bunch of in-depth conversations for the long future to come

Really lovely conversation and insightful entertainment!
This is a real hoot for music lovers. Windows into the magical world of (mostly) UK music royalty, and a Casale as well! Informed but super fun.

Electronically entertaining
Such a lovely podcast. Martyn through his time in the Human League, Heaven 17, the B.E.F.and as a producer has met or known the cream of the crop of electronic musicians and is calling up old friends and acquaintances to have entertaining and informative conversations. My current favorite podcast.

Martyn’s Wares
Electronically Yours with Martin Ware is a really fantastic podcast that anyone interested in the arts and entertainment world would enjoy. What sets it apart from others is Martin’s ability to have real conversations with his guests...he doesn’t rely on asking the same old boring questions and using stale interviewing techniques, which is so refreshing. His personal connections to many of his guests makes the listening experience extra enjoyable. For example: referring to Sananda Maitreya’s latest recordings as ‘spotty genius’ created a mood that ran through the rest of their conversation, resulting in an awkward yet funny exchange at the end. “Podcast Gold” as Martyn would say. I also love the “Smash Hits” Q&A and the synth noodles that he incorporates at the end of each episode. The gear talk is fun and if his Seven Deadly Synths idea doesn’t pan out, maybe he can do an offshoot called Martyn’s Wares that spotlights the synths and other gear he uses in his recordings and performances. Great job Martyn and thank you for putting out a quality product that is helping many of us get through these trying times!

Fantastic talks, feels like a new friend
I am so happy to have discovered “Electronically Yours” during the lockdown. Interviews with my music heroes alone would have grabbed my dedicated attention. But there’s so much more to love here. Martyn’s personality shines through my earbuds, making me feel like I’m sharing a coffee with old friends talking not only about “the good old days,” but also engaging in disarming and human stories about how life continues. Martyn’s genuine and ever-curious banter is infectious. I look forward to spending my afternoons with my “new friends” each time a new episode is released. Thank you, Martyn, for bringing this podcast to our lockdown.

Electronically Yours is !
Martyn is not only a true legend in the synth-pop world, turns out, he is a super nice guy with so many lifelong friends that he features on this one-on-one podcast. I’ve heard so many fascinating stories from his guest that just drop the ol’ jaw (all the sad financial choices made by the Factory Records/Haçienda debacle as told by Peter Hook himself) I can’t hardly wait for the next episode. So many top list names from the electronic music sphere share their stories with Mr. Ware and since he is so connected and revered, just think of all the excellent people for upcoming podcasts. The future is bright!

Grateful for Martyn’s effort
This music that the podcast focuses on has had a resurgence and after the rock press squeezed everything out of classic rock and alternative bands from the 80s and onward, it’s so refreshing to hear the voices behind a body of work that was waiting to be discovered for us younger folks after becoming bored with all the usual touchstones. Good on you, Martyn, for creating this record.

Fabulous chats, fabulous host
Martyn’s show is a favorite, I look forward to it every week. He’s a brilliant producer & composer in his own right, and the two-way chats with peers are intimate, entertaining and enlightening.

Honest, enlightening and pure!
What a great cast. Thank you. I’m an American electronic nut since the beginning and it’s a breath of fresh air how you get to the heart of things and ask real questions. It’s authentic, fragile and modern! Love it. It’s additionally so nice how you’re uncovering and revealing little gems of historical corrections as each new guest unfolds. Brilliant. Cheers.

Absolutely Wonderful!
Martyn Ware has pulled together amazing conversations from so many of my musical heroes. This is not just a great podcast, but also a great source of music history. Love Martyn’s musical interludes on the Roland System 100 and Minikorg 700s too!

ABC and the Clash
I was/am a big ABC fan. I had the pleasure of meeting Martin Fry and Stephen Singletons in Los Angeles for the Look of Love tour. Shortly after Beauty Stab came out (which I consumed voraciously), I happened to meet the Clash in Montreal. Somehow the subject of ABC came up with Joe Strummer. He made a snarky comment that ABC were just fluff and I disagreed and said no, that Beauty Stab really addressed some political themes. He chuckled and brushed me off. All these years later, I just laugh to myself knowing that I defended ABC to Joe Strummer of the Clash.

Loved the G.V.Casale podcast
This is the best conversation I've heard with Gerry, just like two friends talking and he seemed totally chilled so the stories kept on flowing. Look forward to part two!

Off to a great start!
Martyn Ware is responsible for some of my favorite pop music, so I was excited to see that he's doing a podcast. While not autobiographical per se, the format is conversational, so we got to hear a few of Martyn's memories, including some tiny bits of Human League/Heaven 17 history. I'm not super familiar with Richard Hawley aside from some of his work with Pulp, but I found their exchange interesting. I'm certainly curious about who the next guest will be and looking forward to episode 2!
