In this interview, she explores the strategies that are being used in Einstein-Montefiore Antibiotic Stewardship Program to promote the effective and responsible use of antibiotics. She also discusses other consequences of antibiotic resistance, including disruption of the normal microbes that inhabit our bodies and fungal infections of the blood. Dr. Pirofski is chief of the division of infectious diseases at Albert Einstein College of Medicine and Montefiore Medical Center.
