#44: Two decades ago, Kim was prescribed the antibiotic Vancomycin for a very common infection while she was 6 months pregnant. This was the beginning of her nightmare as the medication destroyed her microbiome. 

The next day she was suddenly lactose intolerant,  the inside of her mouth would blister after she ate anything, and she became prone to hyperacidity and charlie horses. 

It became a do or die situation and a very steep learning curve for her. She realized that doctors did not deserve her trust. And she had to figure things out on her own or die trying.
