I have the Duolingo app and I practice French so this podcast helps me learn even more. Also the story’s are very interesting. The English translation is very helpful too.

I only started learning French about 1-2 months ago. I don’t know a lot at all but I love hearing out words I know and the English summary helps a lot!

Love the serialized season on Josephine Baker!! Really enjoying listening to it and I’m engaged the whole way through. 4 stars only because I listened to some of the re-visited episodes from this season and the audio quality on the French is quite poor. Much prefer the acted / serialized episodes.

I loved this episode. My father was a high school and college French teacher and Francophile. Although he was born in Vienna and immigrated to the US in 1927 as a 10 year old, and we heard German at home because my grandmother lived with us, he insisted we all study French. I am the only one of the 4 kids who speaks it. We grew up on Jacques Brel listening to his records on our stereo. And when the Broadway play, Jacques Brel is Alive and Well and Living in Paris arrived, he took my mother and me to it at least twice! And after that, intermixed with Jacques Brel records we also listened to the stage recording of the play. This episode brought back many fond memories of my father who died when I was in high school. Thank you for this. Now I’m going to listen to both Jacques Brel and Arnaud! Teri Gruenwald

I do the Duolingo app to so it VERY helpful and it is REALLY fun too! And on the podcast you get to learn about culture! I recommend both the app and podcast!

Was excited to try a good easy French language podcast, but unfortunately this one has more English than French in it. This language switching is terrible for learning, and Duolingo should really know better.

I started at around Christmas time and have been obsessed since! I learn French! So does my best friend. We learn so we can communicate together without anything knowing what we’re saying! Bye!

This is the best French learning podcast I have found. Besides being an unusual and very effective system, it gives a wide range of information about French history, travel, food, etc. I can’t say enough good about it.

Like Ngofeen before her, Ariana has an appealing radio voice in English. But while his French pronunciation was iffy but tolerable, hers is just bad. “Hello and byenn-va-noo to the Duolingo French podcast.” I listen to the Spanish Duolingo podcast also, and Martina sounds right. The French one has some cool concepts (love that we’re following Josephine Baker now!) but I need a host who sounds like they can actually speak French.

Awesome first season, and yet has found a way to continuously improve. The latest season about Josephine Baker is the best yet!

The French Duolingo podcast has been a pleasant surprise. The French is slowed down to a pace I can understand and varied enough for me to learn, but most importantly, the stories have been so wonderful and inspiring. I see a new season is coming out focusing on Josephine Baker, and I’m excited! I also hope other seasons in the future continue to profile the diverse voices in France and other French-speaking countries.

The only reason for four stars is because of the annoying wokeness. The layout itself is great and I love the variation in accents, but sometimes the content misses the mark for me, especially the early episodes.

I love this podcast. As a young Duo learner, I love the language I am learning and always long for more ways to learn. This helps me with French so much as I work my way to being fluent. It is just what you need, to any other learners reading this. So get it NOW!

As an intermediate French learner, it is nice to actually be able to follow along to this podcast. They speak at a slower pace so you can process the words, unlike watching an authentically French movie. Interesting and light-hearted topics. Good production quality, the narrator is pleasant to listen to as well.

I love learning French via these stories! I’ve been listening to each episode a couple of times for understanding. This also helps me as I watch Lupin in French with French subtitles. Now I want to do more research on Alexsandre.

I’ve been using Duolingo for maybe 3 months now and no include these podcast. I really like how simply the stories are told and also captivating stories. I enjoy being able to understand a whole sentence while usually i repeat out loud and even with some bigger words that I’ve learned.

Really good practice for intermediate French learners, but after several years of dedicated practice and listening to the podcast for years my comprehension has improved a lot and I’d like to be challenged more!! it would be amazing if duolingo created a season or spin off podcast that was targeted at upper intermediate learners, with the same scripted/edited intermediate french but much less “context help” in english from the narrator (even though he’s amazing), to challenge listening comprehension further 🧡🙏

It’s okay, I guess. The stories are interesting, but I don’t understand anything at all though! It’s all just a bunch of words that I haven’t learned yet! I don’t get how this is “easy to understand french.”

I love DuoLingo and one of my favorite trainings outside of the lessons was the podcast section in the training hub section to learn more about cultures and hear conversations without feeling pressure to get it right in a lesson right away. Once those were removed I checked out the DuoLingo podcast series and I absolutely love it!! It’s a little tricky at first but search for the words you have learned instead of trying to understand it all right away and you’ll be able to pick up/fill in the meanings of the words you didn’t understand. It’s also helped with my understanding of the languages’ grammar style, which helps me in lessons when I’m unsure how to properly formulate some sentences. Definitely listen to these podcasts if you’re serious about learning and getting comfortable with your new language!

Pairs great with Duolingo helps me get more used to French I’m getting better I listen to this with my aunt amo and we are learning French together. This is good for people who just wanna get used to hearing and using French it’s amazing
