Matthew 5-7 focused on the words for Jesus. Matthew 8-10 focused on His works. If Jesus was telling them what the heart of a disciple looks like in chapters 5-7, He shows them in chapters 8-10. Each person cared for, each problem solved. Jesus shows that He has all the power and all the grace. His compassion was His motivation, and it ought to motivate us as well.
