That’s right folks! Episode 30. It’s so much of a milestone that there was very little prep that went into this raw, unfiltered, slightly tired sounding episode of Drivel recorded at the ungodly hour of 9am. The chaps fill your earholes with tails of car trading, inflation, the phenomenon of firework displays and the theft of a BMW. There’s also a lot of chat about motoring shows that veer off into views and opinions that nobody asked for and very few will agree with. O gives his commentary (contrary to the thoughts and opinions of Martin Brundle) on the F1 saga of last weekend, much to the delight of Mo. Its been a busy few weeks here at Drivel HQ so in this week’s episode the not-so-dynamic duo discuss a plethora of random things including a car meet attended by a Porsche Speedster replica, a Delorean and a ruined Ford, Movie cars, Elon Musk and the astounding discovery that Mo hasn’t seen Top Gun! It’s also a special week for O as he is reunited with his early 2000s love affair, the MG Z-S. Or is he? Well, no, is the answer to that. He instead drives its modern day namesake through Snake Pass and gives us his review in the way that only O can. It’s been a little bit longer than usual since our last episode but we are still here and we’ve grown! In this episode we welcome Tom, a new member to the Drivel Team. O delivers Tom many instructions centred primarily around his own grievances including with Lexus, Autotrader, Ebay, his dear wife and random folk on Facebook. We focus in on 2020’s second best-selling car in the UK, the Vauxhall Corsa (hold your excitement) and during its review we somehow end up talking about the Fisker Karma, fake vs. real leather and the engine configuration in a 2006 BMW 325i. We also reveal the hidden Easter Eggs that Vauxhall drivers can enjoy.   This episode has a special guest appearance from Google Assistant. Today, Ladies and Gentleman, we bring to you O impersonating Mo. We will leave it to you to determine if its accurate or not. We also pose a very important question; does O’s inability to stay still in front of a microphone for any more than about 34 seconds irritate you? Somewhere in this episode we review the Peugeot 208, the latest car in the Peugeot range to receive some pretty decent styling. Does it drive as well as it looks? Have you ever wanted a book review of two lesser known children’s stories read to you by a couple of 30-40 year old regular petrol heads? No. Well, welcome to Story Time with Mo and O anyway. Like everything else Drivel, it promises to be completely average. Also in this episode the pair get carried away with their Drivel, covering topics such as their inconclusive conclusion on the weekend’s Formula 1 events along with a cracking marketing suggestion for the PR team responsible for Lewis Hamilton. There’s also a special murder vehicle for sale at a hugely inflated price. Another instalment of Drivel sees Mo & O talking about Motoring TV, old and new, which involves taking a trip down memory lane – a lane filled with Chrome Spinners, 1000 sub-woofers and far too many TV screens, but evidently a lack of necessary mechanical repairs or fair treatment of employees. Pimpin’ ain’t easy. We also get to drive O’s latest acquisition, the FN2 Honda Civic Type-R; does it still live in the shadow of its predecessor the infamous EP3 or has time changed our perspective? That almost sounds like we know what we’re on about but fear not listeners, this episode is still packed full of idiocy and offence – sorry Taxi Drivers and Americans. In this episode, Mo & O take up your valuable listening time drawing comparisons between Tommy Robinson and Lewis Hamilton, questioning the purpose of Naked and Afraid and make some kind of statement about football. There’s car related drivel in here too as the pair get to the bottom of the hidden messages coming out of Seat’s marketing department alongside a review of the Seat Arona – yet another small Cross-UV designed for people with Top Hats and tall children. Never one to shy away from internet research (unless its on the second page of Google), O is true to form as he enlightens us all with some more interesting facts – this time about unexpected cars, that have borrowed unexpected parts from other unexpected vehicles.
