Amy Torok is co-creator of the Missing Witches project. Together we discuss the importance of learning about the lost histories of our spiritual legacy, as well as looking back at our earliest versions of ourselves-- the ways we would play as children and ways we expressed ourselves as adolescents-- to find purpose and inspiration to be who we are and become the elders of tomorrow.
She and Risa Dickens produce the Missing Witches podcast and zine and are the co-authors of New Moon Magic: 13 Anti-Capitalist Tools for Resistance and Re-Enchantment. (September 2023), and Missing Witches: Reclaiming True Histories of Feminist Magic (March 2021). BUST magazine wrote “Dickens and Torok teach us what it means to create art, engage in activism, and exist at the intersection of witchcraft and feminism.” Find their books, podcast, zine and coven at MissingWitches.com

Asal Shokati served a variety of roles in the arenas of finance, lending, and business consulting and have worked with hundreds of small businesses and startups as well as educational facilities. Over time, the stress of her career and the autoimmune condition she struggles to manage forced her to reevaluate her relationship with her body, which led her to not only the amazing creative healing power of Ayurveda, but also led her back to her roots and back into union with her body and her self.
Asal loves to paint, cycle, walk in nature and play the mystical Persian instrument of Setar and sometimes dance. A native of Tehran in Iran, Asal has lived in Texas for over 20 years and practices as an Ayurvedic practitioner and a certified yoga teacher with additional training from Restorative Yoga.

Alexander Meyer is the Junior National Team Head Coach of Archery Ireland as well as a User Experience Designer. These two expertises may not seem like they have a great deal of overlap, but Alex has found many commonalities between the two in his simultaneous career in both fields. Originally from New York City, the son of a painter and an interior designer who raised him to be artistically inclined, Alex has lived most of his life in Austin, Texas, having recently moved to Ireland in summer of 2019 to coach archery for the national Olympic-level team. Making it to become one of the 10 highest qualified Olympic-style archers in the world hasn't happened without tremendous and seemingly insurmountable setbacks, the greatest of which being the relationship he has had to forge with his own body, transforming that relationship from one that is adversarial to one that is collaborative only through open communication to and from the physical body, which for Alex has served as a portal to his own understanding of his spiritual nature.
Here's the TEDx talk referenced in the episode with Tim Harford.

(PLEASE NOTE: This episode is FROM OUR “Dream Journaling for Creatives” podcast series archives. Republishing once again to promote April’s launch of “DREAM TIME: How and Why You Can Make the Dream Work,” a free informational ebooklet available at https://creativityisspirituality.ck.page/make-the-dream-work) Meghan is at a crossroads in her career as a community organizer. She has high hopes for the future, which is a rare and vital way to think this day and age, and she sees tremendous promise in the power of people she serves in the various organizations she works for and supports. Her dream delves into her positive approach about the issues we face today, and being quite a vivid one that casts Meg herself as the woman she aspires to be, it borders on the edge of being a vision of the future. Meg's coming to terms with her gift of clairvoyance, and wow-- what an amazing gift to have as a community builder. Some of the advice and foretelling she receives in this episode is just generally good for anyone, even if it is very specific to Meg's own life.
