An interpreting booth is a portable box or a fixed room where conference interpreters work. The size, design, insulation and ventilation of interpreting booths are defined by ISO standards. Assuring highest standards in interpreting booths is key to an efficient simultaneous interpreting experience and also important for the health and well-being of interpreters. Interpreters spend hours in their booth (or room), which is pysically their work place.
