On Monday, the world discovered that Red Bull overspent in the F1 season of 2021 (the Micheal Masi controversy of Abu Dhabi GP remember?)

The Fruit Of Patience: Sour or Sweet?
Sweet: The beautiful last-lap battle of Vettel and Alonso, Latifi gets his first season points, Vettel finishes P6 after spinning out etc.
Sour: Almost a repeat telecast of Suzuka 2014 and almost losing Gasly just like Jules... (more discussed in the podcast)

Time and again, the "unfortunate" and "untimely" results of steward investigation have caused drama. Why is this problem only faced by F1 and the FIA, not Football and FIFA, or Cricket and the ICC?
Let's explore this race and topic in today's episode.

Even though I had a cold this week, and I carefully trimmed out the coughing in the episode (mostly lol)
I still wanted to discuss the big news with my audience!

This is a controversial topic and a question I left you with at the end of the previous episode...
Should Laps behind a safety car be counted or are they a waste of racing time? I present facts and arguments on both sides, towards the second half of the episode we also discuss why this is important.
Interesting Article by The Race (the comments are more interesting, to be honest): https://the-race.com/formula-1/should-f1-do-more-to-avoid-safety-car-finishes-our-verdict/

This episode will be... **controversial** to say the least. It will be awesome to hear as well.
Excuse me for speaking slowly as this episode was recorded in the middle of the night.

As Zaandvoort comes back on the calendar for the second year... only an idiot would've expected Max NOT to win on his home race.
It could have been possible IF Hamilton and Russel had not pitted during the Virtual Safety Car (and then Safety Car) caused by Bottas losing power right before T1 for lap 69 (excellent)...

The fire we saw from Ferrari at the start of the season is losing intensity, the Red Bulls get stronger.
Even after Sainz's podium... Leclerc's strategist pulls him into the pits in lap 43/44 to get an extra 1 point for the fastest lap... Leclerc under pressure was caught speeding in the pit lane, getting a 5-second penalty making him finish 6th instead of 5th.
Greed never does anything good.
We also talk about Danny Ric's statement about McLaren's performance and expected improvements (if any).

This 2022 season has been slightly harsh on some teams... Alpine isn't particularly having a hard time compared to some other teams (*cough* McLaren *cough*) but it is still necessary to note that they are not in the top 3 teams... how would I run the team if I were it's in charge? How does one fix this team? Find out by listening to this episode!
