Should celebrities automatically be considered to be role models simply because they are in the limelight?

One of the unfortunate truths about our society is the fact that discrimination and prejudices continue to run rampant in all areas, from places of employment, to healthcare facilities, to shopping malls, to educational arenas of all levels.

Today, I want to share with you on the  topic of Self Care.   Let’s begin by clearing up one common misconception from the start: Self-care is NOT synonymous with self-indulgence or being selfish. Self-care simply means taking care of yourself so you can be healthy, you can be well, you can do your job, you can help and care for others, and you can do all the things you need and want to accomplish in a given day.

In this episode I will discuss Assembly Bill 1314, which is titled Gender Identity: Parental Notification. Assembly Bill 1314, introduced by Assemblymembers Bill Essayli of Riverside and James Gallagher of Yuba City, would require school districts to notify parents in writing within three days if a student “is identifying at school as a gender that does not align with the child's sex on their birth certificate.”

In this episode, I will discuss Feeling Othered, detailing the Social Construct of Othering and detail what othering is, how it occurs, how it can be minimized, and the impact it has on society. Othering is one of the processes of marginalization that occurs within society. It occurs when a person highly values his own group while denigrating and excluding anyone from a group different from his. The process of othering lies at the heart of many societal ills, including racism, sexism, homophobia, and transphobia.

In this episode, I will discuss the Ban on Assault Weapons. This episode covers the parameters of recent Assembly Bill S.25- Assault Weapons Ban of 2023, proponents and opponents of the build and the impact of assault weapons upon mass shootings in the United States.

One of the greatest tragedies a human can suffer is homelessness because it causes a person to be vulnerable to unhealthy conditions, such as viruses, diseases, infections, bodily harm such as rape and other physical attacks, inclement weather, animal attacks, unsustainable employment, educational instability, etc. Furthermore, homelessness can lead to mental instability due to the lack of control one has over his/her life, which resulted in homelessness.

This episode discusses the phenomenon of Cancel culture, which impacts those who are deemed to have acted or spoken in an unacceptable manner. They are ostracized, boycotted, or shunned. It is the practice or tendency of engaging in mass canceling as a way of expressing disapproval and exerting social pressure.  Essentially, Cancel Culture means to void someone today based on what he/she did/said yesterday.
