'To Be Honest' with oneself and others is the most difficult thing for us humans. It is because, in order to be honest, we must be courageous enough to take a look into the dark side of our psyche and confront our weaknesses—and expose them openly to the world—which is what we are most afraid of. My intention is having 'To Be Honest' to fuel a community of like-minded listeners to dare To Be Honest. To empower and inspire us all To Be Honest—so we can find harmony within ourselves and create healthy loving relationships.

Low Self-Worth Versus Low Self-Esteem - Part 2
Is self-worth and self-esteem the same?  Dr BB explains some mental health practitioners believe they are the same, and use them interchangeably.   However, Dr BB thinks differently: She agrees both self-worth and self-esteem play a crucial role in an individual's mental and emotional well-being, however, there are important key differences between the two.  Self-esteem is the subjective evaluation of one's own worthiness and value as a person based on external factors.  Self-worth is a more global and stable form of self-esteem that comes from within, knowing and believing in one's worth as a person. Both can have significant implications for mental health, relationships, and overall life satisfaction. Come join Dr BB to learn more about the development of low self-esteem versus low self-worth, its psychological underpinnings, and practical strategies for fostering a healthier sense of self.  Come join Dr BB to have a listen, share, subscribe and review this Episode. For further resources, please visit: www.drbarbarakiao.comThank you for listening! Low Self-Worth Versus Low Self-Esteem - Part 1
In this Part 1 of Low Self-Worth versus Low Self-Esteem, Dr BB shares a case from her peer Dr Andrea Szasz from the South Pacific Private, in Sydney, NSW, Australia.  The protagonist in the case shows you how lack of self-worth drives addiction and relational issues.Dr BB quotes Dr Szasz: "Children need to grow up in a predictable, safe and nurturing environment to develop a robust capacity to cope with life's challenges and to have fulfilling lives." As Dr Peter Levine (trauma specialist) says: "Trauma is not what happens to us, but what we hold inside in the absence of an empathetic witness." Therefore, healing childhood trauma is a "must do", in order to grow an individual's self-worth.So come join Dr BB to have a listen, share, subscribe and review this Episode. For further resources please visit: www.drbarbarakiao.comThank you for listening!
