The State of the Union's Health is frustrating (to say the least)! In this episode, Dr America covers what's going on with CHIP, DACA, new attacks on Medicaid patients, and the Trump regime's plans to legalize discrimination in health care. Finally, on the 5th anniversary of the Sandy Hook shooting, why is Congress helping more people carry around concealed weapons?

In this big episode, Dr America rallies us to stop the ACA from being repealed (again) and extend CHIP for children's healthcare. Also, as the Trump regime rescinds DACA, immigrants' and DREAMers' health is at stake. Finally, as we maintain vigilance for these challenges, let's also be visionary. Following the violence in Charlottesville, Dr America talks about how overt racism is connected to covert racism. At individual and institutional levels, there's a lot of work to do, but are we ready to get uncomfortable? Like James Baldwin said, "Not everything that is faced can be changed, but nothing can be changed until it is faced.

In this episode, Dr America thanks everyday Americans for standing up for health justice and stopping efforts to repeal and replace the Affordable Care Act. With that victory, we must be vigilant against sneak attacks to Medicaid and affordable coverage. Also, we must be visionary for how we build single payer, and ask: is it enough?
