Doodle Ideas - Encouraging you to be creative.

I have been doodling all my life. In notebooks, sketchbooks, post-its, and pretty much anything else I can get my hands on. I remember when I was in first grade, I would sell drawings of cars and super heroes for 25 cents. This interest continued all the way throughout school as I took every art class as I could. What I love about doodling is how loose and imperfect it is. As a graphic designer bound by rules of grids, spacing, and precision - a doodle is a fun escape. I can just grab a marker and draw and not worry about how realistic or how perfect my drawing is. I just draw what comes to mind. Doodling is not just for artists or designers. It is for anyone willing to take risks and to explore their creative side. I hope doodling brings you as much joy as it brings me. Happy doodling!

Draw a fire escape | Doodle Ideas Episode 14
Black Toast One morning Tom reluctantly woke up with a lot on his mind. He had to be at work at 8am and had a huge meeting. His company was starting a new project and he was responsible to tell everyone about it. He could not be late. Since he was already behind schedule he thought he could save time by making breakfast while he was in the shower. So he grabbed two slices of white bread and placed them in the toaster and turned it on. He then quickly ran to the bathroom to start his shower. After his shower he realized he needed to shave. After he shaved he realized he needed to iron his shirt. After that he realized he needed to check his email one last time. Then, all of a sudden he smelt something burning. He quickly jumped from his seat and ran into the kitchen. He saw the toaster billowing thick dark smoke with violent spurts of flames. He quickly grabbed his freshly ironed shirt and began to beat the flames with it. The flames became angry and grew larger and larger and totally engulfed his shirt. The toaster began to melt and Tom began to panic. His ears then began to throb from the loud alarm above his head. He couldn’t breathe. All he could do was… Run down the fire escape!

Draw a cabin | Doodle Ideas Episode 11
Cozy Cabin in the Woods I always thought it would be great to live in a log cabin in the woods. Being able to walk through evergreens and hear the wind pass through the needles as you smell the smoke from a wood fireplace.

Draw a random doodle #1 | Doodle Ideas Episode 10
Random Doodling an Abstract Design This was a fun one. I just started out with a few circles and then branched off from there. Doodling is great because you’re not totally focused on the final product but what you’re doing at the exact moment.
