Once you start digging into the local political space, you realize it is ALL ABOUT THE MAPS! 

It ends up every 10 years in coordination with the census we redistrict; I had no idea! All I knew was that we had a whole new set of House & Senate districts this year, and it made for a very stressful and confusing caucus prep! 

I wanted to understand this more, so after attending a Leadership Program of the Rockies Retreat seeing Hunter Barnett present, I had to sit him down for an interview to break down the whole process. He is 1 of the 12 Legislative Commissioner who redrew the 100 General Assembly seats (35 state senate and 65 state house) and spearheaded the development of the state senate map. https://redistricting.colorado.gov/content/barnett

We had an excellent conversation that really explained the process. After talking with Hunter, I'm excited to see what the upcoming elections will look like in Colorado! This class of candidates running for State House & Senate are some of the best!
