Louder
I’m sure the content is good, but I’m having a hard time hearing and understanding it. Please work on the technology to make it clearer and louder for my Baby Boomer ears.
Update 2/15/21. Thanks for the much improved audio quality.

Far better back in the day when seasoned reporters have insight.

Great Podcast!
The content and conversations are great. It's a good way to stay informed of what's going on in NC politics. The main reason I can't give this podcast 5 stars is the sound quality. I listen to several (20+) podcasts regularly and this one has the absolute worse quality of those I listen to.
Update: Episode No 170 had excellent audio. Keep this up!!

Good but horrible audio
Informative but good lord the audio quality is all over the place. Hard to listen to sometimes.

Poorly produced
The team touches on some important info, especially since national politics tend to follow NC two years later. From a technical standpoint, it is poorly produced. Constantly hear heavy breathing, audio levels are inconsistent, static/echo will come through etc. Pace and general structure is sub par at times too. Host needs move things along and participants need to come better prepared and speak more efficiently/quickly. Sorry to say I don’t think the team is naturally talented in this speaking format (personality/engaging), but a focus on improvement regarding basics/preparation would go a long way. This has potential to be a vital flagship NC politics podcast and an N&O asset, so I get frustrated when it falls short. Is there a mcclatchy podcast best practices template the team can reference?

Terrible audio
I appreciate the content of this podcast, but the audio is so terrible it makes the show unlistenable. I often think they only own one microphone and scoot it around the table as people are talking. A reporters voice will start off really low and then you hear a loud object in contact with the mic, or what sounds like a scrapping noise. And when they have a reporter calling in remotely - forget about it. The call will be staticky and a completely different volume than the rest of the show.

Good content, rough sound
Good content. Aims for nonpartisan, informative news that is entertaining. Would rate higher but the sound levels and mixing are often problematic, so much so that I frequently skip episodes that I can’t hear in my car during playback. Might be better with earphones...

Please, please, PLEASE improve sound quality
Great podcast. Gives you a quick, round table rundown on the most important political issues going on in North Carolina. Hosts are well informed and engaging. HOWEVER, the audio quality is horrendous! It sounds like they are recording it by passing around a circa 1980’s cassette recorder. I’m almost convinced that they deliberately make it hard to listen to so that you have to buy a newspaper.

Great but needs better editing
A wonderful podcast that presents an unbiased view of the local news in North Carolina. It’s nice to hear the even coverage of all the crazy things going on. They do sound like they’re producing in somebody’s garage on a busy highway so make sure you have headphones with easily adjustable volume. It’s definitely worth the listen, but you’ll need to manually adjust as you go.

Excellent content, terrible sound quality.
Some mics are super loud, while you can barely hear the others. If you can get past it, the content is unmatched.

Great NC info
I like the show. They do a good job of covering state political news, not just Raleigh.
I hate the "headliner of the week" intro song. I also wish they would debate the headliner of the week instead of just having the host decide.

good informative media
succint, unbiased and nonpartisan coverage of government and goings on in NC state government. this is a great way to keep up with what is going on if you are not a daily reader of the news. i am hopeful that when we enter election season it will not become a show about political theatre but contine to cover policy and the actions of those currently in office. wish the sound quality was better, but overall grateful for this service.
