Ep 48: Dr Sarah Myhill (Ecological Medicine) on the optimum guide to overcoming any health condition
In this episode, I had a fascinating conversation with Dr Sarah Myhill, who is a qualified medicine doctor and for almost 40 years has focused tirelessly on identifying and treating the underlying causes of health problems.
She has worked in NHS and private practice and for seventeen years was the Hon Secretary of the British Society for Ecological Medicine.
Dr Sarah has published numerous scientific studies and her website is an extensive resource of articles and information based on her treatment of patients, which covers hundreds of pages content which has had millions of views.
She is also the author of several books including Ecological Medicine, Chronic Fatigue Syndrome & Diabetes just to name a few.
This is a wide-ranging discussion and one that’s not to be missed. From protecting yourself against Covid-19 to the ideal diet for beating any disease and her the top 3 supplement recommendations, this episode has the potential to empower you to live and long and healthy life.

In today’s episode, I welcomed Sion Jones on the show to hear about his fascinating journey towards becoming a yoga and meditation teacher.
Having been living in a state of intense anxiety and distress for years when he was younger, he found great relief through taking yoga classes, helping him feel more grounded and at ease with himself. This began a decade long enquiry into this practice which has taken him all around the world in search of deepening his understanding into this way of life. He now passes on all that he’s learnt to help others transform their own lives through his classes, workshops and retreats.
We talk about a wide range of subjects in this episode, from emotional health, eye-opening documentaries, travelling and exploring the world as well as living in community just to name a few.
This conversation was recorded at the beginning of April a few weeks after everything went into lockdowns so you’ll notice us discussing this side of things.

In today’s episode, I was joined by Hugo Tagholm who is Chief Executive of Surfers Against Sewage which is a national marine conservation and campaigning charity that inspires, unites and empowers communities to take action to protect oceans, beaches, waves and wildlife.
SAS, set up in 1990, are a grassroots movement that has grown into one of the UK’s most active and successful environmental charities.
Each year through their initiatives volunteers remove millions of pieces of plastic from hundreds of beaches across the country. SAS’s supporters also helped campaign for the plastic bag charge which has already taken out over 6 billion plastic bags from the environment!
There’s plenty to be inspired by in this episode.

In today’s episode, I spoke with David Hieatt who is the founder of Hiut Denim, who is based in Cardigan in West Wales. Their ethos is to Do One Thing Well and because of that approach many say they make the best jeans on the planet right now (which I have to agree with having owned a pair for the last 7 years).
When I started this podcast I had a list of the kind of people and companies that I wanted to speak with and Hiut was on that list. Not just because they make the best jeans but because of the mission behind the brand and how they bringing craftsmanship back to a town which desperately needed to start making things again.
Set up by David and Clare Hieatt, their mission is to get back the 400 jobs that were lost when the biggest jeans factory in Britain closed its doors back in 2001. And when Meghan Markle was seen wearing their jeans it took them to a whole new level and allowed them to move back into the original factory that used to make 35,000 jeans per week.
For any budding entrepreneur or a seasoned pro, there is plenty of wisdom shared in this episode, whether that’s about having patience and hard work with your idea to the importance of curating a story behind your brand, there’s a lot worth absorbing in this one.

Today’s episode is with radio & TV presenter George Lamb to hear the inspiring work he’s doing with his organisation GROW, which works in schools and communities to promote mental well-being, physical health and a more hands-on relationship with the natural world.
George shares his own story on leaving behind celebrity culture to chart his own path. He travelled the world in search of this and came across many groups and organisations that are helping to shape a healthy future. Then when he comes across Daniel’s Pinchbeck’s book ‘How Soon Is Now’ on how now is a pivotal time for humanity to change course, George realised it’s time for him to play his own part in this shift.
GROW aims to bring 360° learning to every secondary school in the UK by 2030 and has three core modules: GROW, FLOW and THINK which cover the likes of yoga, breathwork, nutrition, food & farming.

In this episode, I had a truly fascinating conversation with yoga teacher James Boag, hearing all about his approach to becoming a whole human being.
From yogic movement, applied philosophy, meditation, storytelling and kirtan his approach is quite different from what you might expect when you imagine a yoga teacher.
James lives a truly inspiring life. One could suggest he’s as free as a bird, going where the wind takes him as he shares his gifts to the world. One of those gifts is his wonderful signing voice which you’ll hear from the start of the podcast when he chants Ganesh Sharanam, setting you up perfectly for the wisdom that shines through in this episode.
I could have spoken with James for hours longer and I’ve got a feeling this won’t be the only time he speaks on this podcast.

In this episode, I attempt to offer a silver lining when we are going through challenging times our life.
I Beleive amongst every crisis is an opportunity to see the good that can come from it. For the most part, it's up to us to reframe external events and see the positives that can come from them and how they can help steer us down a better path.
I share some inspiring stories that have come out of the current pandemic, from the countless community groups that are appearing throughout our neighbourhoods, to the environmental benefits, and how one billionaire is giving away a massive chunk of his wealth to help get us through these times.
If you are after an antidote from how things are playing out through the mainstream media then this could be just the ticket.

In this episode, I sat down with Chor Amor founder, Paul Williams, who is a small but mighty producer of flavoured single-origin chocolate.
After being made redundant from his finance job in 2010 and having no luck finding a new role after sending out over a thousand CVs, he decided that he had to create his own job. Then during one sleepless night, he stumbled across an article about selling chocolate and this is where his idea was born.
The company has thrived since starting out in Paul’s kitchen and is now a multi award winning manufacturer of “fiendishly good chocolate” which is ethically sourced.
It’s a fascinating story and one that could be just the ticket to give you the extra motivation to get started on that new idea.

In this episode, I had a great conversation with Bruce Davis, who is the founder and managing director of Abundance Investment, which has been at the forefront of financial innovation since 2012, creating ways for everyone to invest in green and social infrastructure.
Bruce was instrumental in the development of peer to peer finance, using that knowledge along with his fellow co-founders to create Abundance. It’s impressive how well this company is run, not only for its green credentials but the level of trust and transparency you get with where you invest your money. For as little as £5 you can start an account and start making good money by investing in a better world.
We also discuss the financial impact of the current pandemic, educating the youth on money as well as dispelling some of the myths around being an entrepreneur.
Even if investments are not your thing, you’ll learn more on the inner workings of money in this episode than you would have during your entire time at school.
