Why Can't We
Each month we will be brining you up to speed with the latest in the world of disability sport, with news, interviews and disability sporting chat. These podcasts will be brought to you be Why Can't We and will be presented by Shaun Malone and Peter Harding. Shaun Malone is best known as one of the "Malone Family" on Gogglebox but is also a keen promoter of disability football through his work at the Manchester United Foundation. Shaun suffered a brain injury in 2015 and has since become invested in helping to raise awareness disability sport. After reaching out to Why Can't We on Twitter, Shaun has become part of the team and will be educating himself on disability sport as well as informing you about his work. Peter Harding is the founder of the Why Can't We campaign and started raising awareness of disability sport after realising that coverage for disability sport was lacking compared to the mainstream coverage on able bodied sport. Peter then became immersed in the world of para sport and now works grow the coverage in the media. Dis Sport Pod - Corie Mapp
Peter and Naledi sit down and talk to Corie Mapp who is a multiple World Cup, World Championship and European Championship medallist in Para Bobsleigh. A Lance Corporal in the British Army, Corie lost both legs when his military vehicle ran over an explosive device in Afghanistan in 2010. Among other injuries, he suffered a broken jaw, severed lip and punctured lung but three years later he was representing Great Britain at the European Championships for sitting volleyball. He took part in the Invictus Games in 2014 and it was Help the Heroes that introduced him to bobsleigh at a trial camp in Calgary a year earlier.
