Positive vibes
I started following Brett after my friend recommended his book to me “It’s Hard to be A Person”. I really love his vulnerability and he is so talented musically, artistically, and emotionally. I just love his podcast too when I want to feel positive vibes.

Life and Music with Humor thrown in (not everything has to be a funeral)
Brett does an excellent job of recounting his many adventures of touring all over the world in the last eight years while bringing on guests, many that have decades of more experience in the music world, to tell unique stories that I have not heard in other interviews. Brett uses the “branches on a tree” style of interviewing where it is more like a conversation and podcast flows organically from topic to topic between off the cuff riffing and the standard “Where did you get started?” hits. A definite Wisconsin bent runs through the episodes with many musicians known in that region, not famous outside it, which leads to exposure to artists that could become your next favorite.

Crunchy Tales From the Road
The perfect podcast for the DIY music scene, and for fun stories from the road in general. Great guests and a great host talking about great music (and the occasional disastrous gig)
I do not like this now 245
Top Notch, 3.7 out of 3.7, Would Recommend
This podcast is fantastic. It’s even more fantastic when played at half speed. Brett sounds hammered, which lends itself well to his style of storytelling. To hear him talk about Viroqua at 1/2x? Truly magnificent. 👏👏👏

Inspiring Human
His acerbic wit and compassion for the human condition will resonate with you as it has with me. Inspiring guy.

GRIT
Brett has a way of capturing the realness and the grit that happens out in the thick of it. Sprinkling in his enthusiasm and his sense of humor to gives an endearing account of a DIY musician. This man is as grass roots as it gets and his retelling of his stories are as captivating as being there with him. We need more people like Newski and Spatoli out there keeping it real.

Newski’s “Talk Radio”
Check out the stories of what happens between the gigs of an indie-rock vagabond. Amusing anecdotes and perspectives of a road-musician’s life, all told with the benefit of a bit of hindsight. Great guest panel.

The Real Deal
Newski is the real deal. Exploring the universe and leaving a trail of songs for those who can’t get out there as much as they’d like. Keep Rockin’ Brett!

Interesting Fellow
Caught Brett live in Milwaukee and Boston. He has a charming wit and seems to be a man of many musical talents. We need more East Coat shows!
The podcast similarly did not disappoint. He and Spatola make a great team and the travel angle is very entertaining. All the best and keep on with the podcast!

Free lessons from a couple of Road Scholars!
Worth the listen no matter what you are up to. Wisdom from many years of playing and touring. The curtain is entertainingly pulled back to reveal some of the highs, lows, and humanity from the world over, one culture at a time!
