I am so greatful that this podcast gives me (German) a way to show my daughter some German ways. It's easy to comprehend for a non-German speaker of any age (with some help).

I find it's to shor & a little, bit booring

He watches them on my iPod and it helps me teaching him German being the only German speaking person in his daily life! And I have to admit that even I have learned various things. Danke ARD fuer diese Podcasts!

This is a homegrown German kids' show similar to Mr Rogers Neighborhood or to Sesame Street. It consists of a number of live action and animated vignettes on a theme. These podcasts are little doses of German practice with pretty good visuals to go along. Some will be on topics that are familiar, others might be new and interesting (for example, how an airplane is constructed). Some are songs with animation that helps make their meaning clear.

This series is educational, interesting, full of variety, not too long, and fun for kids from about 2 on up. My multilingual 2 1/2 year old watches a few a day, and always learns more German vocabulary from them. If you want educational fun with the Maus and Elefant, go to wdrmaus.de.

Well, I've only downloaded about 10 of these, but the podcast seems to be more "Sendung" than "Maus". The videos are the live action "how ______ is made" pieces from the show, and I have yet to see Maus or Elefant. I was pretty bummed by that, but were I a child, I'd be into the videos on how beds are made.
