Why isn’t ZERO stars an option
The host incorrectly thinks Die Hard is a Christmas movie. The host clearly lacks all critical thinking skills. I read the absolute disgrace of an essay this moron wrote, where they make their case that Die Hard is a Christmas movie. Here are the indisputable FACTS. Die Hard is a HEIST movie, out of the summer blockbuster ACTION genre, that is SET during Christmas. It is NOT a Christmas movie. If you celebrate Christmas by watching this movie, that’s fine. It doesn’t make it a Christmas movie. The world doesn’t have to bend to your ignorance. You can just enjoy this movie during Christmas, that’s fine. Live Free or Die Hard takes place on July 4th weekend. That does not make it about the birth of the nation. It’s a cyber terror plot ACTION movie. July 4th is part of the SETTING. “Back to the Future takes place on November 5, 1955. That’s the day the 84th Congress decided racial segregation on US interstate commerce was forbidden. Therefore, Back To The Future is a Civil Rights film.” You see what happens when you don’t know how to think critically? Die Hard is by far my favorite action movie. It’s just not a Christmas movie. And really, that’s okay. On a side note, this podcast was to spam 10 episodes. And the host QUIT halfway through the episodes, and just put out a petty, immature episode where she just kept saying that it’s a Christmas movie to anybody that says it’s a Christmas movie, and then kept saying but it definitely is a Christmas movie. In other words, you’re only right if you agree with her. It sounds like she figured out she just wanted to scream into an echo chamber of her own ignorance, and couldn’t handle the FACT that she’s completely wrong. She probably got the SLIGHTEST of pushback, and just decided to quit when she couldn’t prove Die Hard is a Christmas movie. I mean, you can’t prove what is inarguably FALSE.

Fun
I learned about this podcast from the Q&A podcast with Jeff Goldsmith when Simone asked a question of the screenwriters. I’ve loved the deep dive into the movie, its characters and its background. I look forward to the episode on Hans Gruber.

Yipee-ki-yay!
I was hooked from the opening tag line. I'm one of those people who has been telling people for years that Die Hard is one of the best movies ever made. And even though I've heard or read a lot of the info here, I'm giddy as a school girl to listen to someone else tell these stories.

The Christmas gift that keeps giving year after year.
Great deep dive into the creation and execution of a great American action movie. I look forward to listening as they come out. Well researched and obviously a labor of love. Great job!

You know if you'll like this...
It's in the title... a deep deep dive into Die Hard and all the things surrounding it at the time. For fans of the film, and that era of action films in general, this podcast rocks the party. I imagine if you haven't tried it that you're wondering if it seems like someone is forcing one film across an entire podcast series, but then you'd be surprised at how well the eps. feel different and informative and interesting. And, on a tech note, this podcast is very well put together, with high 'production value' if you will. I heard about this from How Did This Get Made, and I'm really glad I tried it. Big fan, I'm in for whole run, and will keep an eye out for what you do in the future.

The Best Xmas Movie of All Time
If you have ever found yourself in the gravitational orbit of John McClane, Hans Gruber, lonely Twinkies, loudly humming the Ode To Joy when suv=ccessfully withdrawing money from an ATM, GET THIS IN YOUR EAR COWBOY!!! An amazing and intelligent investigation of the greatest holiday movie of all time.

Great!
Insightful, witty, and genuinely engaging, not only is it great to revisit a classic, but having Simone as our guide is an exceptional delight.

Yippie Kai Yay YEAH I SAID IT
I can’t explain how this is so engaging and fun to listen to. But Simone has a very distinct, welcoming presence and her delivery is clear and professional while also being warm and friendly. I wouldn’t normally be into a show that spends like 9 hours dissecting one movie, but under Simone’s expert guidance, I know I’m gonna be into this all the way through.

Come out to the pod, we'll get together, have a few laughs
Simone is a great host and listening to her talk about something she is so passionate about is a real treat, can't wait to know way more about Die Hard than I probably ever wanted. Keep up the great work!
