Amanda Bennett: Digital Black Feminism & Mothering Ourselves
We kick off the series with the brilliant, eloquent and lovely Amanda Bennett. Amanda is a writer, educator and Black feminist in her 4th year of her doctoral degree at Duke University where she’s completing her thesis on Black feminist writers and prose during the 70s and 80s. Amanda is also the founder of Define & Empower, a Black feminist education and consulting collective that places the varied perspectives of Black women at the center of all their work. In this episode, we discuss: Amanda's research, disseminating Black feminisms on social media, the Black feminist trafition of learning how to Mother ourselves, and being vulnerable with ourselves.  The incredible educational organisation I mentioned, Night School Bar, who are making multi and transdisciplinary higher education-level courses accessible, can be found at www.nightschoolbar.com
