As we come to the last episode in this season of the Devoted podcast, we honor the flow of the Mother and what she desired for this was for it to be this full and beautiful experience rather than having each episode slowly trickle in. We honor that as we begin, in a sense, a new year with September for many being the start of a school year, that we celebrate a deep reflection of what our past 8 months have been and what we are ready to commit to for the 3 to 4 months before we reach December. And with that, I have a question. When was the last time you heard the word pretend? Tara so graciously and beautifully walked me through her process and embodiment of pretending and I can honestly say I feel expanded by her words, her essence, her invitation into it. In Tara words, pretending is the bridge to that next level of what we want to step into. When you think of stepping into something new, often it can feel uncomfortable, unfamiliar, and maybe even out of reach. What I explore with Tara is the idea that pretending provides a different lens to look through and it can be a sort of medicine for the discomfort you feel in stepping out into the unknown. This healthy kind of pretending is your inner child getting curious and it is a permission slip to just go with it and not have to have everything figured out.Tara is so familiar with the stepping out into the unknown as an actor. To listen to her journey, experiencing it through her eyes, was such a gift. Her desire to bring equity into the stories she sees all around her. To stand up in the face of misogyny. Her devotion to caring for herself and her wellbeing above staying in toxic environments.P.S. you WILL NOT want to miss the end of this recording where Tara grants us all the greatest gift. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did!Tara TagliaferroTara Tagliaferro is a buena strega of the concrete jungle (Queens, NY), globetrotting theatrical artist, and everyday wallflower meeting her morning cocktail of anxiety and figuring out how to still bloom. What a delightful conversation I had with my dear friend Julie Parker. I absolutely loved hearing all about her childhood growing up on a farm and learning more deeply how that has shaped who I know her to be today. How her nurturing spirit and ability to ground into a deep sense of calm was birthed in so many ways through her early years lived on her family farm. How her love of learning has been such a significant piece of her life ever since grade school and what it means for her to stay grounded in who she is as a person with every new piece of knowledge she takes in.This conversation with Julie was such a delight. We talked all about her childhood growing up on a farm and how that has really formed who she is today and how she shows up in the world. What it means for her to stay calm no matter what life throws at her. And her absolute joy for learning. To me, Julie has this way of staying calm in the midst of the fires of life, when things do not go according to plan. She shared how her mother really modeled this as she was growing up. How staying calm and keeping your cool was a key lesson learned on her family farm. Staying calm can sometimes be used to keep us disengaged from our emotions, to keep us out of our wholeness. And yet Julie really invites us all into this reframe of, keeping our cool and staying calm can be a very empowering and aligned choice that is available to us. Instead of running away with our emotions, we can find our own calm, and stay grounded and present with ourselves before moving forward.Julie’s love for learning is such an inspiration to me and I really loved her perspective on learning from a space of self acceptance and presence. She shared beautifully about how this allows her to learn and absorb new ideas and new information while staying grounded in her wholeness. In being Julie Parker, always.I am so grateful to Julie for coming on the podcast. For regaling me with her stories, sharing her deep wisdom and absolute delight. So excited for her to come back on the podcast so we can talk about her life as a priestess, her activism journey, intentional purchasing and so much more!Julie ParkerJulie Parker is the Founder of The Beautiful You Coaching Academy where she passionately trains heart centered people to become life coaches. As the Co-Founder of Priestess Temple School, a global movement devoted to uplifting modern day Priestesses as they explore sacred leadership and service in the 21st century, Julie is committed to contributing to a world where presence, healing and social justice are honoured. She has trained with High Priestesses and Modern Day Mystery Schools from all over the world.Julie has inspired thousands of people as an in demand speaker, sacred circle holder, priestess and flower essence practitioner, and is the recipient of numerous leadership and women’s awards. The story of Tee-ta and Tiffany coming together is EPIC. And who knew I had a key role in their first conversation that began their collaboration journey together. So cool!Their connection is truly incredible. I could feel their deep connection. How their souls were simultaneously enmeshed together and so unique and grounded in their individuality. It was truly so beautiful to behold.Tiffany and Tee-ta so graciously walk us through their journey as a white woman and a black woman coming together to have difficult, meaningful and heartfelt conversations with one another that they so graciously share on their podcast together. Listening to them reflect on what it is like to collaborate together. Their heart behind their collaboration. It’s just so good!I loved hearing from both of them what it looks like for each of them to own their voice and speak their truth. We explore the necessity of failure and releasing the cultural need and expectation for perfection. And in the very quotable words of Tee-ta, “If we try to be perfect, then there’s no room to be great.”Tee-Ta Walker + Tiffany ScottTee-Ta Walker, Founder of Tee-Ta Walker & Associates, LLC is a Creative and Analytical Brand Strategist. With being Black in America, unfortunately, she has endured racism and discrimination. The best way for her to heal through this and bring awareness to this ugly disease is by having raw, real, and courageous conversations. To that end, she co-hosts a podcast/videocast with Tiffany Scott, Conversations with Tee-Ta & Tiffany: A Black Girl & A White Girl Talking About Black Girl & White Girl Stuff (blackgirlwhitegirlconversations.com/).Besides Tee-Ta owning her own business and breaking down barriers, she loves traveling, drinking coffee, being spiritual, living an authentic self-expressed life. Exploring and discovering the world around her is Tee-Ta’s JAM!Tiffany Scott has always been driven to deliver more. Hibiscus Mudang. Her name, Mudang, is translated as shaman. Hibiscus, the name her teachers and guides gave her, which is the national flower of Korea and is steeped in deep meaning. The history of her story is truly remarkable. From her retelling of her upbringing as a child to her initiation in becoming a Mudang. What a gift to hear her vivid dreams and the epic journey she has chosen to embark on.And to hear her life today. Sharing the mundane in the midst of the spiritual. As we all have our real, everyday lives to live in the midst of our spiritual practices. Listening to her share what her days are like was such a beautiful gift and reminder that there is beauty to be found in the simplest things.Hibiscus MudangTheMudang is an ordained shaman-priest in the indigenous korean tradition Mugyo (otherwise known as korean shamanism). She was born in Seoul, South Korea and moved to the United States when she was about 6 years old. Throughout her childhood, she interacted with local spirits but never in such a way that scared her parents. She began to delve into witchcraft at the age of 11 years old. By the time middle school came, she began to suffer spirit sickness. Only about ten years later did her ancestors start visiting her and showing her visions of things she couldn't have known about, and at that point reached out to mudangs to become vetted and begin the process of initiation and training in 2017.Presently, she has a family and day job on top of her temple care duties. She resides in Washington state and enjoys warm weather, talking about spirituality, and spending quality time with her loved ones.Website: www.themudang.comFacebook: www.facebook.com/mudangnimInstagram: www.instagram.com/themudang

I am so excited to share this conversation with you! In this episode of The Devoted Podcast Sora and Tracy go deep into the power of connecting with your ancestors, trusting your intuitive self and believing in and embodying your true essence.Tracy Neely is an intuitive healer, life and mindset coach and a seer for women entrepreneurs. Her journey of diving deep into learning her own personal heritage and connecting with her ancestors is breathtaking and will ignite inspired action within your own soul. I invite you to listen close as she reflects on this journey and how connecting with her ancestors has brought such pride to her soul as a black woman. Listening to her share how she calls on their strength and honors their path that has led her to where she is today is truly a gift.Sora and Tracy walk beautifully through the journey of remembering who we are. They remind us that when we allow ourselves to truly embody our own energy, we release ourselves from the comparison of timelines. Do you ever find yourself wondering why something hasn’t happened for you yet...feeling like you are behind in some way? Through their soulful dialogue they invite us to remember to simply be, with ourselves, with our own energy, our own light. And when we release the stories of the should’s and supposed to’s all the timeline comparison fades away and we can truly be in this present moment.Sometimes the should’s can be your guidepost to who you truly are and noticing if you are living in true presence. When you are listening to the should’s, that often means you are not tapped into your true essence. And when you let the should’s fall away, you find yourself centered in your creative presence. This is your own personal magic.https://www.tracyneely.com/

Delight. This was such a delightful conversation with Leonie. As an artist, writer and world changer, her energy is energizing and magnetic.Have you ever been afraid of trying something new? Thinking you won’t stick with it or just talking yourself out of it because it sounds too hard or too far out there? Leonie is exploring 21 day challenges and I absolutely love this idea! I mean you can try anything for 21 days right? Meditation, no social media, yoga, reading, walking, etc. This led us into Leonie’s relationship with social media, and how she is now completely off social media, and loving it! It’s curious to think about isn’t it? Not being so attached to socials. What would it feel like to not be constantly checking Instagram? What would you do with your time? What would you have the space for? Leonie has more time and space for her creative endeavors and is communicating more with her email list where she is having more real conversations now that social media is pulling away her attention and energy. When you think about wealth, what comes to mind? Do you ever think about your well being as an integral piece of building and sustaining wealth? Leonie chats with us about building wealth and how that has allowed her to serve herself, her family and her world in more ethical and aligned ways. It makes me think about what our world will be like as each of us build and sustain our own wealth. Think of the prosperous new world we will create on an individual and collective level as we each enter into deeper service and alignment as we build our wealth.Leonie DawsonLeonie Dawson is an internationally best-selling author of her yearly goal planner workbooks, which have helped over 400,000 people worldwide set & achieve their life & business goals.Leonie has generated over $10 million in revenue while only working 10 hours a week. Releasing from the logical, linear expectations society puts on us and stepping into creativity. This is the invitation Meghan invites each of us into in this conversation. Her way is beautiful. Her energy is magnetic. She is soothing and inspiring. Ahhh. I am refreshed.Meghan is such a beautiful storyteller and she so graciously walks us through her story of being an introverted creator. Her journey of experiencing burnout and moving through her burnout into joy. Releasing herself from solving a problem in her art and instead creating for the pure joy of the experience. And entering into play, which to her is creativity sans knowing the outcome. In so many ways society has conditioned us to believe that for something to be of value it must have a measurable and tangible outcome that fits into the mold of what success “looks like”. Meghan invites us into our vulnerability. Sharing that creativity is a vulnerable act that leads to our healing.May this conversation with Meghan give your soul the permission to explore your own creativity, allow your self expression to come forth in its own way, and enter into play. And remember, often the fear you feel is a gap in knowledge, and an invitation to deepen into your learning, and not a gap in your worthiness.Meghan Geliza JacksonMeghan Geliza Jackson (pron: Jeh-lee-za) is a Filipino-Kiwi earth pigment artist, creative director, educator and holistic facilitator from Auckland, New Zealand. She creates paint slowly made from soil, foraged respectfully and reciprocally.
