A bit more from the hip and not so stiff like the last ones, I've decided to share my thoughts as they flow on the subject. Please share your thoughts and let me know how you deal with swearing in your household by checking out my blog www.definedad.com

It turns out women can see more shades of red than men…we [men] are so screwed. If like me you’re wondering why that is at first, then take a moment to let it sink in. What happens when we tell a lie, feel embarrassed, anxious, [have a drink] or just plain scared? Our heart rate increases, blood rushes to our face and we blush, our faces turn red.

This will come as a shock to most of my female listeners and readers but [most] boys – and subsequently men – don’t like to talk about their feelings. I’m going to be honest with you, I personally struggle to ‘talk about my feelings’ because I find it deeply personal and yes, it makes me feel a little vulnerable – this conversation is already drifting in an uncomfortable direction.

Come a little closer, I’m going to share a little secret about me. Sharing on social media and blogging, for me as an average bloke is hard, really hard – taking a selfie can be, *pshh*, IS physically painful [#notallmen]. I enjoy reading books – yes, even ones without pictures – on cognitive science, psychology, human development and neuroscience and read, not so long ago, that this phobia of ‘selfies’, ‘sharing’ and ’emotions’ in most men might be partly because of how we as homo sapiens evolved during our time in the wild. The theory goes something like this: women stayed behind in the villages socialising and raising children and the men went off to hunt for food or picking a fight with the neighbours, again. 😐
