The Deep Fried Podcast: October 2, 2012 – Looper and MoviePass
In this edition of the Deep Fried Podcast Chase is joined by Chris Reed, site administrator and producer of deepfriedcouch.com and the Deep Fried Podcast along with movie regular Will Lindberg. In this edition of the Deep Fried Podcast Will and Chase briefly review Looper, which they both saw over the weekend.  Don’t worry, you won’t find any spoilers in this episode. We spend the majority of the podcast discussing the newly relaunched service MoviePass.  The Hollywood Reporter posted a story this week explaining the service, the technology they’re using, and how their potential business model will work once the service is out of beta.  We discuss the technology involved, the practicality of the service, and if we think it can succeed without parterning with major national movie  theater chains. The Deep Fried Podcast: May 6, 2012 – Weekly GrizzCast: Lionel’s Lineups?
In this edition of the weekly GrizzCast Chase is joined by Chris Reed, site administrator and producer of deepfriedcouch.com and the Deep Fried Podcast. In this weekly series we will cover the highlights of the past week of Grizzlies action as well as discuss our current opinion about the team from a fan’s perspective. In this special edition of the weekly GrizzCast we discuss how we feel about things through three games of the Grizzlies/Clippers playoff series with the Clippers leading 2 games to 1.  The Grizz recovered nicely in game 2 from the debacle that was game 1, just to leave us with more questions after a game 3 loss.  After leading by as many as 7 points, Lionel decided to stick with a lineup that had played exactly 0 minutes together during the regular season.  The result was obviously less than desirable and by the time the starters returned the damage had already been done.  Listen in to hear our reactions–trust me, Chase was not too pleased. If you have any questions or comments for future GrizzCasts you can send an email to [email protected] or ask them on Twitter @deepfriedcouch. The Deep Fried Podcast: April 28, 2012 – Weekly GrizzCast: Playoff Preview vs. LA Clippers
Photo Credit: http://www.twitter.com/memgrizz In this edition of the weekly GrizzCast Chase is joined by Chris Reed, site administrator and producer of deepfriedcouch.com and the Deep Fried Podcast. In this weekly series we will cover the highlights of the past week of Grizzlies action as well as discuss our current opinion about the team from a fan’s perspective. In this special edition of the weekly GrizzCast Chase and Chris get ready for playoff action in the Grind House on Beale Street.  The Grizzlies have clenched the 4 seed and home court advantage for the first round of the playoffs against Chris Paul, Blake Griffin, and the Las Angeles Clippers and are ready to tip-off Sunday night.  We’ll discuss how the Grizzlies have gotten to this point, what they need to do in order to win this series, and what we think the story lines will be if we are looking back on a Grizzlies series win.  We also cover the perception of the Clippers as a “hated” team as pointed out by the Geoff Calkins article in the Commercial Appeal this morning and how true we think this perception is.  If nothing else, we know the Clippers TV announcers make them slightly easier to hate.  Of course, listen to the podcast to hear our picks for how the series will end and just how far we think the Grizzlies can go in this thing.

The Deep Fried Podcast: April 30, 2012 – Weekly GrizzCast: Nightmare on Beale
In this edition of the weekly GrizzCast Chase is joined by Chris Reed, site administrator and producer of deepfriedcouch.com and the Deep Fried Podcast. In this weekly series we will cover the highlights of the past week of Grizzlies action as well as discuss our current opinion about the team from a fan’s perspective. In this special edition of the weekly GrizzCast Chase and Chris try to recover from the mayhem that happened Sunday night in the FedEx forum against the LA Clippers in game one of the playoffs.  We’ll cover all that was good about the “insurmountable” lead the Grizz built through the first three quarters of the game and how the lead was then lost in the final minutes like quicksand. We will discuss what story lines can be derived from Sunday’ performance and what, if anything, this blown game means for the rest of the series. The Deep Fried Podcast: April 9, 2012 – Weekly GrizzCast: Weathering the Storm
In this weeks addition of the weekly GrizzCast Chase and Chris are both in Memphis for this week’s home games at the Grind House.  We discuss the so called “Week of Death” and how the Grizzlies had possibly the best week of the season as they competed against some of the best teams in the league.  The Grizzlies beat the Thunder, the Heat, and the Mavs all in the same week with their only loss being to the Mavs in Dallas on the third night of a back to back to back.  We will discuss the emergence of Gilbert Arenas as a legitimate threat from behind the three point line and Rudy’s struggles and his ability to overcome them in Saturday’s game against the Mavs.  This week we have the “Tony Allen Tweet of the Week” and cover his busted lip and expected return. If you have any questions or comments for future GrizzCasts you can send an email to [email protected] or ask them on Twitter @deepfriedcouch. The Deep Fried Podcast: March 26, 2012 – Weekly GrizzCast: The Calm Before the Storm
In this weeks addition of the weekly GrizzCast we discuss the somewhat disappointing last week of Grizzlies action.  After a tough 0-3 start to the week, the Grizzlies had a great performance against the Lakers on Sunday night on ESPN.  The good news is that Sunday the Grizzlies look like the old team, so hopefully things are back on track for the week ahead.  We discuss the important role the bench played in the Lakers game and how important it will be for the bench to continue their productivity throughout the tough stretch ahead. If you have any questions or comments for future GrizzCasts you can send an email to [email protected] or ask them on Twitter @deepfriedcouch. The Deep Fried Podcast: March 19, 2012 – Weekly GrizzCast: Zach’s Back…and maybe Gilbert too
In this edition of the weekly GrizzCast Chase is joined by Chris Reed, site administrator and producer of deepfriedcouch.com and the Deep Fried Podcast. In this weekly series we will cover the highlights of the past week of Grizzlies action as well as discuss our current opinion about the team from a fan’s perspective. In this weeks addition of the weekly GrizzCast we discuss several changes in the works for the Grizzlies.  First of all Zach Randolph is back in the lineup and will return to the starting rotation on Tuesday night against the Kings.  Although the Grizzlies need him back, they have an tough stretch of schedule to deal with as they adjust to working Zach back into the rotation.  Also, rumors are sounding likely that the Grizzlies will pick up free agent Gilbert Arenas.  Although there is some controversy as to how this will impact the team’s chemistry, there is no doubt the team is lacking a shooter and Arenas can provide some help in that area.  Lastly, we briefly discuss the rumors of Michael Heisley selling the Grizzlies and the possibility of the team being moved to San Jose.  Although highly unlikely, it has been in the news and makes for some interesting conversation. If you have any questions or comments for future GrizzCasts you can send an email to [email protected] or ask them on Twitter @deepfriedcouch. You can follow Chase on Twitter @deepfriedcouch for Grizzlies game updates and follow Chris @clreed87.
