Tammy Richard is a Mental Health Promotion Facilitator with Alberta Health Services and a certified yoga instructor. She has been promoting health and well-being and helping people with addiction and mental heath issues for over 20 years. Tammy is passionate about mindfulness and yoga and benefited so much personally from these practices that several years ago she began incorporating these practices into her work with schools. She enjoys seeing the positive impact and changes in the youth she works with who deal with levels of anxiety and stress. When teachers began noticing the positive effects on their students, they too began inviting her to staff meeting and wellness days to learn how to incorporate mindfulness into their own lives and in the classroom. Tammy has helped schools create a culture of mindfulness working with all levels from administration, teachers, students and families. In addition to in-classroom mindfulness programs she also offers professional development sessions.
