I Have Questions
Only reason I give a 4 star is the fact that there are many unanswered questions… for example, can they not prove her voice recordings were fake? Answer the big questions please!! Other than this, I enjoyed the podcast.

Well-done!
This was a really well done series. I had heard about it a long time ago, but never heard an in depth retelling. I feel so much for Denita’s family. But I really appreciated hearing her mom talk.

Great podcast
Found this by accident and I really enjoy it! I tend to listen to true crime podcasts and this one was interesting and sad

Great podcast
I stumbled upon this podcast and between the great narration and storyline this story pulled me in within the first few minutes. It holds your attention and you’ll be wanting more.

YES!
Great podcast. I was hooked from the start. Detailed storytelling, the best!!

Narrator a misogynist
He must have said the word “abortion” at least 5 times to shame Shannon.

Looooooveeee
I’ve heard this case numerous times and they way this podcast told it was so detailed and captivating. I’m basically all caught up. But Shannon is one the most manipulative women I’ve ever heard of.

Sad for everyone; questions unanswered
I can’t believe how diabolical Shannon Crawley was to cover all “of the points” as referred to by the detectives, and how she did it— “conniving person.” I just binged all episodes but had to go back and review some of the episode transcripts for better understanding of the facts. I also wondered why the maintenance man’s description of Shannon’s uniform shirt and sleeve patch at the time of the murder appeared not to be brought up in the trial. Also, how did Shannon become such an expert markswoman with the weapon? Had she received previous weapons training from her father (a former deputy sheriff)? So much needless pain and loss for so many people. Josh did a great job in giving us this story.

The Best
I’ve listened to several podcasts but this one is the best! Twists and turns told in a way that keeps you engaged.

Question about evidence?
Very good podcast!!! Hard to stop listening.
Question though… when Shannon was telling her full story after reading the evidence against her, she stated that after the shooting with Jermeir, she went home and got dressed for work. Right there was the sign ( to me) that she was lying since the maintenance man described her uniform was already on her.
This was not talked about or addressed. Would love to know why or thoughts on this.
Just an awesome podcast. Very sad for both families. ❤️

The Best
Josh has the best sayings that he ties into each story. I love him!

Terrific
Engaging and well produced. Great story with good twists. And, I’ll listen to anything with Josh Mankiewicz!

Interesting story
Easy listening doing yard work. I enjoyed the story from both sides, but it was not clear if Shannon even knew how to fire a gun. Why didn’t her defense go into this more? Was she was so skilled she could take out the victim in one shot? I think the police officer was more knowledgeable in shooting a firearm and being able to finish in one precise shot.

Another great one
I’m a fan of Josh, he’s one of my favorite Dateline correspondents. He just oozes empathy. I obviously feel bad for Denita and her family, but I also really feel bad for Shannon’s family. I wonder if they’ve ever come to terms with her guilt. I also don’t blame people for blaming Jermeer, but I agree with the prosecutor - ultimately he’s not the one at fault, Shannon is, and he has to live with his choices for the rest of his life. Affairs don’t usually end in murder, and he’s no more guilty than anyone else who’s committed adultery whose affairs haven’t ended in murder. I hope he stays faithful to his current wife.

This was not one of my favorite dateline series, but not with any fault toward Josh Mankiewicz, who is one of the best storytellers in the business. My problem was that the story itself was not a mystery, but who done it was told at least down to two people in episode one. I just think this was more worthy of being Maybe a two episode at most story.

Pretty good
Josh Mankiewicz is a great narrator. Dateline pods like this one are interesting because they’re involved. The dramatic violins are too much, almost sensationalizing or too showy when discussing a tragedy. The sound affects are a little silly, annoying even, but I liked it.

Good story and narration, but they chose only one riff for the background, the same four chords over and over 🤣

Too Many Episodes for a regular Dateline
Why stretch this typical 60 minute Dateline story into a multi episode podcast? After four episodes, I’m throwing in the towel with the full episode covering failure of a polygraph. Not worth wait or the ads for another tale of a cheating cop and a jealous lover. This genius even whispers during phone calls when he knows he’s being tape recorded. Wake up Josh, this one is nonsense. As Neil Young says, Welfare mothers make bad lovers—divorcee

Could have been one episode
You can figure it out from episode one. No twists or turns. Should have been a regular 45 min episode. Odd that they chose to make this its own series.

A cautionary tail for real!
Very interesting and infuriating! Ugh, what a horrible loss to the victim’s family! Every story Josh Mankiewicz reports on is riveting! I don’t even mind that he lazy talks sometimes, and that usually irks me to no end!
annabanana67
Disappointing
I thought the story was interesting but this did not need to be a six episode series. Could have been condensed to one episode.

Don’t pass this up!
I enjoyed this podcast more than most because the people involved were so ordinary. It could’ve been me it could’ve been my sister. There were no signs that the man she was engaged to with could someday be responsible for her death. Really good storytelling. Congratulations, Josh, you hit this one out of the park!

Josh is the best!
This story is unraveled to keep the listener engaged. Josh is so good!

Loud music
Why so loud? Over-produced. It’s not a musical, people!

Another repeat
I have already seen this one on Dateline,. It would be awesome if you guys would provide new cases. There’s missing people and murders every single day in this country. Cover something new!

Another stellar podcast
Josh Mankiewicz and the Dateline producers knock us out of the park once again. You really can’t find better podcast than these. I love listening to them and can also fall asleep to them. Always classy coverage of people’s worst events.

Not sure why they chose this case to make a long form podcast about
The entire case it spelled out by the second episode. I can’t see where there’s any twist or turns. Jealous love triangle leads to murder. This is a 45 minute dateline episode.

Favorite Dateline Episode
This is one of my all time favorite Dateline episodes, and I am so glad it is getting its due. Josh does such an amazing job telling the story, but also getting every side of the story. I am hooked!
