Dog Mom's "Living with a Working Canine"
Today we have two special quest. Both are members of the Public Services sector as Nurses here in Wisconsin. That's not the only thing they have in common, they are both married to Law Enforcement Officers that just happen to be canine handlers. So what was it like for Chelsea Hall and Devan Nehls helping care for two working line Czech Shepherds in Yeti and Tek. What is it like having a retired canine live in the house that mentally thinks he can still work? Would they change anything? Is Chelsea excited for the day Yeti gets to retire? Give it a listen and let us know if your experience has been the same.

Dennis Graves U.S. Army Veteran CJ3 Recipient of K9 Sarge
This episode Dennis and I discuss how our paths crossed thanks to the friendship he forged years ago with founder of CJ3 Foundation, Eric Thomas while serving in the U.S. Army when their paths crossed in South Korea. That friendship, common bond, and mutual respect for God & Country lead all of us to a hunting opportunity provided by Wounded Veterans of Southwest Ga back in 2020 thanks to another mutual friend J.R. Coker.  Its amazing a group of men from  Virginia, Wisconsin, Georgia, and Florida can cross paths and build such a strong bond for a common goal. We also talk about the challenges facing the first responder, military community and lack of funding to help these men and women in need. To donate to the CJ3 foundation please visit their website www.cj3foundation.org. If you are in the South Ga/North Florida area and wish to support one of the trainers providing services dogs to this organization or need training on your personal pet reach out to Gus Navarro with K9 Concepts Dog Training at www.k9conceptsdogtraining.com.  You can also donate to the Wounded Veterans of Southwest Ga by visiting their website at https://woundedveteransoutdoornetwork.orgAnd of course to follow us and what we have going you can check out our website at www.jessiffany.com or for the most up to date info follow us on Facebook https://facebook.com/ironridge14 or Instagram instagram.com/jessiffanyk9. Social Skills, Dog Parks, and Follow up on Obedience
Today, Tiffany, Ashlee, and I follow up on some comments, emails, and calls on obedience and socialization. We also tackle the misuse or lack of understanding in relations to dog parks and your pet. We highlight the major concerns with dog parks and give you some valuable alternatives to exercise your dog without adding undue stress.  We added more clarity to corrections when paired with your voice (pitch, tone and inflection) and highlighted the importance of timing.  We also discussed the luxury of adding positive task when a dog is performing negative behavior especially since they cant multi-task. To reach us with specific questions or problems you can email us at [email protected][email protected], [email protected], or [email protected].  Or simply reach out on social media through Facebook at  https://facebook.com/ironridge14  at or Instagram at instagram.com/jessiffanyk9. You can also reach us at www.jessiffany.com
